Race 1: Mulgas Adventures Handicap 0-58 - 1100m

LITTLE DITTY (D Gillett) – Bounded on jumping, steadied off heels approaching the 900m when racing forward and momentarily eased off heels at the 100m. Bumped with a runner at the 650m.

ANOTHER VAL (S Logan) – Slow into stride, crowded for room at the winning post.

LEAN ON ME (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.

CALIPARI (M Philpot) – Underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers and was declared fit to start. Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide 550m.

ARROGANT MISS (H Le Blanc) – Rider reported that her mount began to lay outwards from the 600m. A subsequent veterinary examination of the mare revealed no apparent abnormalities.

JACKSET (L Maloney) – Crowded for room at the 650m bumping with another runner.

RIVER FROST (D Hirini) – Crowded for room shortly after jumping.

SABIE FALLS (W Cave) – Raced wide from the 550m.

HURN COURT (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

LITTLE TOWN BLUES (S Robbins) – Commenced awkwardly bumping heavily with another runner, lay outwards rounding the home turn.

EXCUSES EXCUSES (L Maloney) – Raced wide throughout and began to yield ground from the 500m.

GARRUCHA (J Todd) – Steadied off heels at the 800m.

NOBLE MAGNATE (J Hampson) – Bumped heavily with another runner on jumping and failed to muster early speed despite the urgings of its rider. Lay out from the 200m under pressure.

FORGETABOUTIT (S Tsaikos) – Fractious in the barriers and slow into stride. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a minor abrasion to its offside cheek.

POINT LOMA (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Carried outwards by another runner from the 800m to the 700m and when shifting back inwards at the 600m had to steady off heels.

STELLA BYSTARLIGHT (M Philpot) – Steadied off heels at the 850m and commenced to race wide from the 650m.

Race 5: Magic Millions Red Centre Classic BMNT - 1200m

DOWN THE WICKET (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly and inclined to lay inwards down the home straight with its rider having difficulties in fully testing her mount.

THROW AT DA STUMPS (A Nicholls) – Slow into stride. Was found to have bled from its offside nostril post-race. Trainer K Petrick was advised of her obligations under AR79.

STYLE AND GRACE (A Sweeney) – Lay inwards under pressure from the 200m.

FLYING ANNIE (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

HELLARA (D Hirini) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

LA BOQUERIA (J Hampson) – Underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers and was declared fit to start. Bumped with another runner on jumping.

STARLITE REBEL (B Newport) – Failed to muster early speed getting back in the field. Commenced to shift outwards under pressure from the 300m.

TANGO STEPZ (M Philpot) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

MEGASUN (S Logan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and shifted outwards under pressure from the 200m.

MUSELET (J Lyon) – Slow into stride and raced wide into the home straight.

SILENTDEEL (M Philpot) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide from the 1200m.

TINTERN POWER (D Gillett) – Steadied off heels approaching the 1000m when racing forward and lay outwards under pressure from the 250m.

VOLDEMORT (B Newport) – Inclined to over-race into the first turn.

Race 9: Ladbrokes Alice Springs Cup - 2000m

ISOLYFE declared a late scratching at 5:05pm by order of the Stewards after the gelding took charge of its rider en-route to the barriers and completed a lap of the track at a fast pace before the rider was dislodged. Apprentice M Philpot was examined by paramedics and received first aid treatment for an injured foot. Apprentice M Philpot was advised that she must produce a medical clearance prior to riding again.

KANGAROO COURT (D Gillett) – Knuckled slightly on jumping and began to yield ground from the 700m.

HETTINGER (A Sweeney) – Steadied off heels into the first turn and began to yield ground from the 650m.

ALTAR BOY (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide in the early stages of the event and began to yield ground quickly from the 450m. When questioned rider advised that the gelding felt amiss in its action in the straight. Trainer T Gillett reported that the gelding had lost its near fore plate in running and had sustained an injury to the near fore frog. Trainer was advised that he must produce a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to it racing again.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners and WRITE YOUR NAME, HE’S MAVERICK from race 9.

Pre-race samples were taken from: LUSKIN HERO, GARRUCHA, JACKSET, MEGASUN, STELLA BYSTARLIGHT, STYLE AND GRACE, LUNA FIELD and all runners engaged in race 9.

All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol.

Reprimands:

Race 8 – Apprentice Jockey J Hampson, was reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).

Suspensions: Nil

Fines:

Race 5 – Trainer K Healy, was fined $100 for presenting his runner with the incorrect gear, AR106.

Race 5 - Jockey A Sweeney, was fined $300 for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).

Race 9 - Apprentice Jockey H Le Blanc, was fined $200 for a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post, AR131(c).
