General: At the request of trainer R Viney and consent of jockey B Newport, Stewards approved the following rider changes:
Race 1 - D Hirini replaced B Newport (SQUARE CUT)
Race 2 - S Logan replaced B Newport (GRINZINGER LASS)
Race 3 - D Hirini replaced B Newport (SABIE FALLS)
Race 4 - S Logan replaced B Newport (ROCK OF KRYPTONITE)
As apprentice jockey S Robbins became indisposed, Stewards approved the following riding changes:
Race 3 - B Newport replaced S Robbins (CYCLONITE)
Race 6 - B Newport replaced S Robbins (STARLITE REBEL)
Race 1: Ladbrokes Racing Experts WFA - 1200m
Both trainers T Gillett and K Healy were interviewed by Stewards in relation to the riding instructions they intended to issue their riders bearing in mind they had multiple runners in this event.
BRAT (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.
DELAGO LAD (L Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly.
MATHEMATICS (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
SQUARE CUT (B Newport) – Commenced awkwardly.
SUPREME ATTRACTION (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Carla Furnishers Handicap BM66 3-Y-O – 1100m
SNORE ROOM (J Hampson) – Slow into stride.
BOOM SMASH OPERA (D Hirini) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding the gelding’s performance, rider advised that her mount did not travel through the early and middle stages, failing to respond to her urgings and as a result, she rode with limited vigour in the home straight. Stewards noted jockey D Hirini’s explanation but reminded her of her obligation to where possible, ride her mounts out fully to the end of the race. Trainer D Leech advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.

Race 3: BT Daley Painting Contractors Handicap 0-58 - 1100m
CYCLONITE (B Newport) – Bumped with another runner at the 800m becoming momentarily unbalanced.
LITTLE DITTY (S Tsaikos) – Crowded for room between runners at the 200m.
GET OUT MICK (W Davis) – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected losing ground. As the gelding had a warning in place for this behaviour, trainer B Cooke was advised that the gelding must now barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to again racing.
SUPER FAMOUS (A Nicholls) – Commenced awkwardly.
ANOTHER VAL (S Logan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
BETTER SUN (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Carried inwards and crowded approaching the 800m. Carried outwards slightly at the 200m.
SABIE FALLS (D Hirini) – Rider reported that the mare lay inwards throughout the event. A subsequent veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
General: On inquiry it was established that SABIE FALLS (D Hirini) lay inwards down the back straight and despite the efforts of its rider approaching the 800m, shifted ground causing BETTER SUN (H Le Blanc) to be carried inwards crowding and bumping with CYCLONITE (B Newport) which was unbalanced.

Race 4: Nutrien Harcourts Alice Springs Handicap 0-66 – 1100m
ROCK OF KRYPTONITE (B Newport) – Rider reported that the gelding seemed to mist-rode at the 400m and again at the 200m. After a disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed the gelding was lame in the off fore. Trainer R Viney was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again. Trainer further advised that the gelding would now be retired.
BLACK ZOUS (P Denton) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
FOURTH POWER (J Hampson) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
REVOLUTION RISING (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
SNOW ON HER (A Sweeney) – Veered outwards on jumping bumping with another runner.

Race 5: Rimfire Energy Maiden Plate SW - 1400m
ICONIC MISSILE (A Sweeney) – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected losing ground. As the gelding had a warning in place for this behaviour, trainer L Whittle was advised that the gelding must now barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to again racing.
THE FINAL WORD (D Hirini) – Inclined to race a little green in the early stages and lay inwards under pressure down the home straight.
COCKTAIL MISS (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
DEPENDENCY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner. Rider reported that after commencing awkwardly and getting back in the field, the mare resented the kickback in the early and middle stages of the event and when taken outwards into clear running at the 600m, finished off making moderate ground in the home straight.

Race 6: Easy Carwash Handicap 0-62 - 1400m
TARAASHOQ (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and carried inwards shortly after jumping and steadied to avoid heels.
DARCI DIVA (H Le Blanc) – Commenced to shift inwards shortly after jumping.
BARANI (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
MUSELET (D Hirini) – Tightened for room along the rails shortly after jumping having to be severely checked losing ground.
General: On inquiry, apprentice jockey H Le Blanc (in the presence of senior rider S Logan), pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in careless riding under the provisions of AR131. The specifics of the charge being that approaching the 1300m, she permitted her mount DARCI DIVA to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in TARAASHOQ (R Vigar) to be carried inwards to avoid heels causing MUSELET (D Hirini) to be severely checked and losing ground.
Apprentice Jockey H Le Blanc had her licence to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to commence midnight the 29 March 2025 and to expire after midnight the 5 April 2025 and in addition was fined $750. Stewards when considering penalty considered apprentice H Le Blanc’s very good record in relation to this rule and that the suspension related to a feature race meeting. She was informed of her right of appeal.

Race 7: Red Centre Technology Partners Chief Minister’s Cup WFA - 1600m
HASSELTOFF (H Le Blanc) – Steadied off heels approaching the 800m. Returned having bled from the off nostril. Trainer D Leech was advised of his requirements under AR79.
HETTINGER (A Sweeney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
VENTING (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to over-race in the early and middle stages and approaching the 800m steadied off heels losing some ground.
1ST HASSELTOFF 2ND GREAT BUY 3RD HADOUKEN
General:
Post-race samples were taken from all winners and GREAT BUY (Race 7).
Pre-race samples were taken from ANOTHER VAL, BOOM SMASH OPERA and all runners engaged in race 7.
All riders were breath tested for the detection of alcohol.
Reprimands:
Race 1 - Jockey D Hirini, was reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Race 4 - Jockey S Tsaikos, was reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Suspensions:
Race 6 – Apprentice Jockey H Le Blanc, was suspended for 1 NT meeting for careless riding, AR131(a).
Fines:
Race 3 - Trainer B Cooke, was fined $100 for presenting his runner with the incorrect gear, AR106.
Race 6 – Jockey R Vigar, was fined $200 for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Race 6 – Apprentice Jockey H Le Blanc, was fined $750 for careless riding (and 1 NT meeting) AR131(a).
Trainer T Gillett was fined $200 for removing his runner off the race-course early without the permission of the Stewards from the race meeting held on 22 March 2025 - AR165(3).

Race 4 - ROCK OF KRYPTONITE - Lame off fore, vet clearance required.
