Race 1: Vodka Cruisers Handicap 0-70 - 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer K Healy in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders bearing in mind he had multiple runners in this event.
BEYOND READY (H Le Blanc) – Took hold and steadied off heels for a number of strides approaching the 1000m losing ground. Was found to have bled from one nostril on returning to scale. Trainer K Lamprecht was advised of his requirements under AR 79.
ZOURATA (D Gillett) – Commenced to shift inwards shortly after jumping.
EQUAL BALANCE (S Robbins) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
LITTLE TOWN BLUES (B Newport) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner. Raced ungenerously rounding the first turn laying outwards and mistrode from heels yielding ground there on.
GARRUCHA (A Sweeney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Carried inwards bumping with a runner approaching the 1000m and then raced keenly bumping with another runner on several occasions. After a disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
HURN COURT (S Tsaikos) – Bumped and crowded for room having to steady approaching the 1000m and then began to race keenly for some distance bumping with another runner on multiple occasions.
MAGIC DEFENSE (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.
PRINCESS PANCAKES (L Maloney) – Crowded for room approaching the 1000m and again at the 800m having to steady.
General: Apprentice jockey D Gillett (in the presence of senior rider S Logan), pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). The specifics of the charge being that when she rode ZOURATA in this event, she permitted her mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in GARRUCHA (A Sweeney) being carried inwards causing both HURN COURT (S Tsaikos) and PRINCESS PANCAKES (L Maloney) to be crowded for room having to both steady and further resulting in BEYOND READY (H Le Blanc) which was following behind to steady losing ground.
D Gillett had her licence to ride in races suspended for 2 NT meetings to commence midnight the 22/3/25 to expire after midnight the 29/3/25. D Gillett was advised of her right of appeal.

Race 2: Hoskings Jewellers Handicap 0-62 – 1100m
STARTON (P Denton) – Carried outwards on jumping, bumping with another runner on several occasions.
DOWN THE WICKET (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Steadied off heels at the 200m when having a tendency to lay inwards under pressure.
REAL VALENTIA (S Robbins) – Underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers and passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout.
PUSHOVER (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on several occasions approaching the first turn when laying outwards.
SUPER FAMOUS (D Gillett) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner and steadied off heels approaching the first turn when racing forward.
TANGO STEPZ (B Newport) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure from the 250m.
GOVERNOR (D Hirini) – Steadied off heels approaching the first turn when racing forward.
RIVER FROST (J Todd) – Began awkwardly getting its head up and losing ground.
CHUCKAMICKY (S Logan) - After a disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

FOURTH POWER (S Logan) – Knuckled and dipped on jumping.
STYLE AND GRACE (A Sweeney) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 200m to obtain clear running.
SPLISH SPLASH (H Le Blanc) – Slow into stride.

Race 4: The Soldier Lightning Handicap – 1000m
Stewards interviewed trainer T Gillett in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders bearing in mind he had multiple runners in this event.
DAKOTA LEE (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly veering outwards abruptly bumping with another runner.
EARLY CROW (D Hirini) – Bumped with a runner on jumping and carried inwards.
RYLAN’S PICK (S Logan) – Bumped heavily with another runner on jumping unbalancing its rider.
RUSTIC BOOM (A Sweeney) – Began awkwardly bumping with a runner.
LUSKIN HERO (L Maloney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
HELLARA (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
CHIEF WHITE SOCK (P Denton) – Crowded on jumping bumping heavily with another runner. Raced wide throughout.

VINNIE’S SPIRIT (S Tsaikos) – Underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers and passed fit to start. Slow into stride.
FIGO THE GREAT (R Vigar) – Lay inwards under pressure from the 200m.
ESSKAY (A Sweeney) – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
TINTERN POWER (D Gillett) – Incline to lay outwards from the 500m yielding ground.

RISING FIRE (D Hirini) – Steadied off heels approaching the 600m.
DR VENKMAN (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and shifted outwards shortly after.
READ (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly on jumping with its rider hitting her right shoulder on the partition. Subsequently S Logan was examined by ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil her remaining engagements.
NO CASH HERE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly on jumping momentarily unbalancing its rider.
VOLDEMORT (S Robbins) – Raced wide throughout.

General: Due to a maintenance issue with the tractor towing the barriers, the last two race times were amended to:

GRINZINGER BISHOP (S Logan) – Began awkwardly. Steadied off heels into the first turn losing some ground.
BOOM BOOM SWEET (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
TRAPEZE FLYER (B Newport) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

Race 8: Lasseters NT Guineas SW 3-Y-O - 1600m
Stewards interviewed trainer K Petrick in regards to the riding instructions she intended to issue his riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.
BOOM SMASH OPERA (H Le Blanc) – Slow into stride, crowded for room approaching the 1400m. Restrained outwards off heels approaching the 1200m. After a disappointing performance, a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
BUCKLEUP BUDDY (S Logan) – Underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers and passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout.
SNORE ROOM (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with runners and unbalanced approaching the 1400m. Crowded for room approaching the 1200m.
THE ACCELATOR (A Sweeney) – Shifted inwards slightly approaching the 1400m bumping VANGUARD LEGEND (R Vigar). Crowded for room approaching the 1200m.
THE MEN WENT HOME (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
VANGUARD LEGEND (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner approaching the 1400m and veered inwards bumping and unbalancing SNORE ROOM (S Tsaikos) that in turn bumped and crowded BOOM SMASH OPERA (H Le Blanc). Crowded for room approaching the 1200m.
GRINZINGER LASS (B Newport) – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1200m began to race ungenerously.
General: On inquiry, it was established that approaching the 1400m, The ACCELATOR (A Sweeney) shifted in slightly and bumped VANGUARD LEGEND (R Vigar) which veered inwards and bumped and unbalanced SNORE ROOM (S Tsaikos) that in turn bumped with BOOM SMASH OPERA (H Le Blanc).
Approaching the 1200m, GRINZINGER LASS (B Newport) raced ungenerously and BOOM SMASH OPERA which was following, had to be restrained and shifted outwards to avoid its heels causing further crowding to SNORE ROOM, VANGUARD LEGEND and THE ACCELATOR.
Stewards acknowledge that there was significant crowding with runners prior to and into the first turn but were satisfied that no one rider rode in a careless manner and took no further action.
1ST THE MEN WENT HOME 2ND GRINZINGER LASS 3RD KING BLING
General:
Post-race samples were taken from all winners and GRINZINGER LASS (R8).
Pre-race samples were taken from: EQUAL BALANCE, SNOW ON HER, THROW AT DA STUMPS, RUSTIC BOOM, DUTY, ARROGANT MISS, TARAASHOQ and all runners engaged in race 8.
All riders were breath tested for the detection of alcohol.
Reprimands:
Race 5 – Jockey B Newport, was reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Suspensions:
Race 1 – Apprentice Jockey D Gillett, was suspended for 2 NT meetings, AR131(a).
Fines:
Race 5 – Jockey R Vigar, was fined $300 for weighing in overweight, AR211.
Race 6 – Apprentice Jockey L Maloney, was fined $300 for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Trainer P Gardner, was fined $500 for failing to produce his treatment records book when requested, AR104.
Trainer B Cooke, was fined $300 for removing his runner off the racecourse early without the permission of the Stewards from the race meeting held on the 16/3/25, AR165(3).
Embargoes & Warnings:
Race 3 - BEYOND READY - One nostril bleed, must gallop 1000m in the presence of the Stewards prior to again racing.
