Race 1: Australia Day Racing on 25th January Maiden Plate SW – 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

CARAT TIME (V Arnott) – Raced keenly in the back straight having to be steadied from heels near the 800m.

GO BARNEY GO (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

HAZELWOOD (A Sweeney) – Slow to muster early speed. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

RUBINOVA (J Todd) – Momentarily crowded when under pressure approaching the 100m.

CHERRY STEM (O Kendal) – Apprentice advised to show more care when improving ground in future after allowing her mount to shift inwards near the 100m causing crowding to another runner.

Race 2: Shane Kavanagh Memorial Sprint 0-64 – 1300m

GLOBAL WONDER (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout.

STYLE AND GRACE (A Sweeney) – Cast the off hind plate in running.

MIRACOLI (H Le Blanc) – commenced awkwardly. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight. Cast the near fore plate in running.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Summer Sprint Series (Heat 2) Handicap 0-70 – 1200m

FUNNYIFITWON (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly. Rider reported that his right stirrup iron contacted with the barrier petition at the start and snapped. He advised that as a result he was placed at a disadvantage in fully testing his mount in the home straight. An inspection after the race also detected a crack in the bottom of the left stirrup iron.

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

RHESUS (W Davis) – Held up for clear running from leaving the 600m until taken outwards across heels near the 450m.

SUPER DEFENSE (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

Due to thunder activity from an approaching storm cell the Stewards brought the start time of this race forward to commence at 5.05pm.

NY KEE (W Davis) – Lay outwards rounding the first turn.

TONIX (R Vigar) – Bounded at the start losing ground.
