Race 1: Vale Sam Kavanagh Handicap 0-70 – 1600m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
SON OF BIELSKI (S Logan) – Steadied back from heels passing the 700m.
A BIG CHANCE (J Booth) – Raced wide from the 600m.
AWESOME LAD (W Davis) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both front legs. Trainer P Cole was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
PRINCE RUBAN (A Sweeney) – Raced keenly in the back straight.
FILTHY RICH (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Silks Darwin Maiden Plate SW – 1200m
EASE OFFA (R Vigar) – Returned having bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion, trainer P Johnston was advised of the provisions of AR79.
THREE JACKS (J Booth) – Bumped at the start.
CHERRY STEM (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

Following this event a storm developed and after heavy rain, the track rating was varied to Wet Fast. The storm necessitated the following variations to the remaining start times.
Race 3 – 4.05pm, Race 4 – 4.33pm, Race 5 – 5.05pm
Race 3: Sportsbet TROBIS Special Conditions Plate 3-Y-O SW – 1100m
POINT LOMA (A Nicholls) – Raced wide from the 500m.
JUST ALBERT (A Sweeney) – Delayed the start by several minutes after proving difficult to load and being fractious in the barriers. Trainer P Shiers advised that the gelding must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Got its head up when being steadied passing the 900m.

HE’S THE ULTIMATE (H Le Blanc) – Bumped at the start. Slow to muster early speed.
FIELD OF FLUTES (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Held up rounding the home turn. Taken inwards across heels to secure clear running passing the 200m.
CONCLAVE PRINCE (W Davis) – Cast the near fore plate in running.
UNDERHAND (S Logan) – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

LUCKY DOG (J Booth) – Fractious in the barriers. Bounded at the start.
VALAROC (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout.
SWING WITH JUNIOR (A Sweeney) – Stood flat footed at the start and lost several lengths. Trainer C Baxter advised that a warning will now be placed on mare.

Post-race swab samples taken from all winners. Pre-race samples were taken from: HAZELWOOD, POINT LOMA, FIELD OF FLUTES, UNDERHAND, LUCKY DOG & VALAROC.
