Race 1: Silks Darwin Christmas Mega Raffle 18 December Handicap BM54 – 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event. Trainer C Pollard was also interviewed in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

REBEL COUNTY (A Sweeney) – Yielded ground from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding returned with an elevated heart rate. Trainer C Pollard advised that after returning to his stables the gelding was lame in the near fore. A veterinary clearance will be required for the gelding prior to racing again.

PROKLISI (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

REDSNAP (S Logan) – Rider reported she was struck in the face with a clod passing the 600m.

WORLD AFFAIRS (J Booth) – Slow to muster early speed.

Race 2: bet365 Handicap 0-70 – 1200m

The start of this race was delayed several minutes due to a plate being refitted behind the barriers.

PHAROAH MAGIC (J Todd) – Cast the near hind plate in running.

SEVEN SECRETS (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout.

STORM THE FORTRESS (R Vigar) – The off fore plate was refitted at the barriers. Bumped at the start. Raced keenly between the 900m and the 700m.

STYLE AND GRACE (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

Race 3: TAB Same Race Multi Handicap 0-64 – 1100m

DISCO DONUT (J Booth) – Rider reported her mount lay outwards in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer C Pollard was advised a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again.

MOORESTOWN (W Davis) – Restrained and lost ground passing the 650m.

FORMS OF FEAR (R Vigar) – Fractious in the barriers. Bumped heavily and crowded at the start.

ENVENOMATE (H Le Blanc) – Slow into stride.

WILD BEAU (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly veering inwards and bumped heavily with another runner.

General – On inquiry it was established that rounding 650m turn MOORESTOWN (W Davis) changed stride and shifted outwards having to be restrained from the heels of DEBATING (A Nicholls).

Race 4: ROANT TROBIS Maiden Plate SW – 1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

MISS MOOV (S Tsaikos) – After being resaddled behind the barriers the mare became cantankerous and reared over backwards and breached the inside running rail. The mare was subsequently declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 4.53pm. Stable foreman J Dyer was advised that a warning will now be placed on the mare.

All bets placed on MISS MOOV were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to successful bets placed prior to 4.53pm.

1st - 46c win, 28c place

2nd 28c place

3rd 28c place

The start of this race was delayed several minutes due to the resaddling of two runners and the late withdrawal.

CRYPTO CHARMER (A Sweeney) – Lay outwards in running and failed to race competitively. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. A veterinary clearance is required and the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again. Trainer C Pollard subsequently advised that the gelding will be retired.

RUBINOVA (S Logan) – Resaddled after arriving at the barriers. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

General – Stewards intend to interview jockey R Vigar in relation to his use of the whip when he rode EASE OFFA.

Jockey S Tsaikos was examined by the Paramedics and fulfilled his remaining engagement.

Race 5: Ladbrokes Wet Season Series (Heat 3) Handicap 0-58 – 1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

The start time of this event was rescheduled to 5.26pm due to the delays in the previous race.

LUCKY DOG (J Booth) – Bumped at the start.

ON THE CHARGE (A Nicholls) – Bumped at the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until taken outwards near the 250m.

SCUDETTO (S Logan) – Raced wide throughout.

BEL SUONO (J Todd) – Bumped and crowded between runners and steadied from heels at the 900m.

HEY LITTLE SISTER (A Sweeney) – Commenced to race fiercely after being crossed in the run to the first turn and as a result failed to settle having to be restrained outwards abruptly across heels near the 600m. Trainer C Pollard undertook to experiment with different gear to improve the mare’s tractability. He was informed that the mare must also barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again and he must continue to engage a senior rider for future starts.

IRASCIBLE MISS (H Le Blanc) – Shifted outwards and away from another runner and bumped another runner at the 900m.
