Race 1: TAB Same Race Multi Handicap 0-64 – 1300m

A BIG CHANCE (L Maloney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted outwards passing the 600m.

EL MAGNIFICENCE (I Luximon) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding returned with an elevated heart rate.

ASTERN MAGIC (S Logan) – Steadied off heels approaching the 1000m getting its head up. Steadied outwards off heels passing the 600m.

ANKLE ROLEX (C Taylor) – Raced wide throughout. Lay out rounding the home turn.

CAPTAIN GEORGE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

ROYAL SIGNAL (V Arnott) – Rolled in at the 600m.

STYLE AND GRACE (A Sweeney) – Cast the off-fore plate in running.

YOUR SHOUT GINGIE (S Tsaikos) – Resaddled behind the barriers prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly losing some ground.

TYQUENDO (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Race 2: bet365 Handicap 0-70 – 1200m

PHAROAH MAGIC (A Nicholls) – Jockey reported that once the gelding got to the fence behind runners, he resented the kickback and failed to stretch out during running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate and lame in the near hind, Trainer G Clarke’s foreman Mrs S Clarke was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

DISCO DONUT (L Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner.

SABOR (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

ENVENOMATE (C Taylor) – Stood flat-footed losing ground.

Race 3: Sitzler Handicap BM54 – 1100m

JUST FOR MARCUS (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout.

BOOMERCONI (C Taylor) – Slow into stride.

STARSPANGLEDANCER (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

TRICKY MIKKI (I Luximon) – Rider reported his saddle slipped just after the start.

CALL IT A LOAN (V Arnott) – Tightened between runners on jumping.

STORY OF STELLA (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

NO RAIN NO FLOWERS (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.

YE HELLA (A Sweeney) – Inclined to lay inwards throughout the event and rider was forced to stop riding and straighten his mount on several occasions down the straight. Rider reminded of his obligation under AR114 (2)(a), A rider must as soon as practicable after a race, report to the Stewards anything which might have affected the running of the rider’s horse in the race.

Race 4: ROANT TROBIS Handicap C2 – 1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

FULL DAMAGE (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout. The rider reported that his saddle had slipped during the event, and he was unable to test his mount out down the length of the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

NY KEE (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

DANCER FOR MONEY (I Luximon) – Fractious in the barriers before commencing awkwardly bumping with another runner.

HACHIMAN (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 5: Silks Darwin Handicap 0-58 – 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

MAGNETIC TYCOON (A Sweeney) – Fractious in the barriers.

ALFIERI (I Luximon) – Slow into stride. Shifted inwards under pressure at the 200m and had to check off heels passing the 100m, losing ground.

GO BUNDLE (L Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly. Commenced to shift ground inwards approaching the 100m when tested with the whip and rider becoming unbalanced when attempting to straighten his mount.

HAZELWOOD (S Tsaikos) – On arriving at the barriers the rider requested that the gelding undergo a veterinary examination as he had concerns with its action. Subsequently the gelding was found to be lame in the off-hind and was declared a late scratching at 5.08pm acting on veterinary advice. Trainer G Clarke’s foreman Mrs S Clarke was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing again.

General:

On inquiry, apprentice jockey L Maloney (GO BUNDLE) in the presence of his representative Trainer C Pollard, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). The specifics being that approaching the 100m whilst using his whip, he allowed his mount to shift inwards abruptly, and in doing so, caused ALFIERI (I Luximon) to take hold and check his mount off its heels losing ground. Apprentice jockey L Maloney had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 NT meetings, commencing midnight the 19th of October 2024 and to expire midnight on the 27th of October 2024. Apprentice Maloney was advised of his right to appeal.
