General: Apprentice L Maloney the rider of the 4th placegetter THE BIG FREEZE, lodged a protest against the third placegetter BEEP TEST (J Philpot) alleging interference about the 400m. Evidence was taken from both riders, trainer of THE BIG FREEZE, C Hunter, trainer R Viney, BEEP TEST, and senior rider P Denton assisting apprentice L Maloney. After considering the evidence and the patrol footage, Stewards dismissed the protest and ordered that placings stand.
