Race 1: Povey Stirk Lawyers Handicap 0-58 - 1200m

QUICK RETURN (K Yuill) – Commenced awkwardly and inclined to shift outwards under pressure from the 100m.

LETHAL ENCOUNTER (J Philpot) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

ILLUSIVE STAR (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Rider advised that he felt the mare raced a little green as it was its first time on the track.

NASTY STREAK (M Wolanin) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 200m to obtain clear running but was then again held up at the 100m having to steady off heels.

Race 2: Red Centre Technology Partners Handicap C2 - 1100m

REVOLUTION RISING declared a late scratching at 3:12PM on veterinary advice after injuring its near side hoof after a mishap in the day stalls.

Trainer G Connor was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness must be produced prior to that gelding again racing.

ONLY THE BEST (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

SPLISH SPLASH (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner and then raced wide throughout.

AUGUSTA MOON (P Denton) – Rider advised the gelding wanted to lay outwards from the 800m and more so from the 200m when under pressure. A veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

FLORAL CODE (S Tsaikos) – Lay outwards under pressure from the 200m.

TAJALDIN (K Yuill) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

General:

On inquiry, trainer P Gardner pleaded guilty to a charge under AR74(b) for nominating a runner for the meeting on the 29th September, with the primary purpose of holding the race up.

The specifics being that BOOGIE NIGHTS was a late entry into the BM76 handicap for the meeting on the above date, which at the time only had 5 nominations. Mr Gardner accepted for and subsequently scratched his runner from the event leaving the 5 runners which is needed for the race to stand. Mr Gardner was fined the sum of $1000 and notified of his rights to appeal.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.

Pre-race samples were taken from: O’TYCOON, KILLZY, CHELSEA CUBE, GOLDEN SHAO, SPLISH SPLASH.
