Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

KUMICHO (K Yuill) – Eased down near the 550m after sustaining a fracture to the near fore leg. Following a veterinary assessment of the injury, the gelding was humanely euthanized by the veterinarian. A post-mortem sample was collected.

DISCO DONUT (A Nicholls) – Bumped by another runner at the start.

MR HAVE A CHAT (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped another runner.

BEL’S BANNER (C Spry) – Lay outwards rounding the home turn.
