Race 1: Mindil Beach Casino Resort Handicap 0-66 – 1600m

GLOBAL WONDER (J Todd) – Fractious prior to the start. Reared as the start was effected and lost several lengths. As the gelding finished second there was no provision to be considered a non-starter. Trainer G Clarke was advised that a warning will now be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.

FIERCE LEGEND (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and bounded at the start.

GO BUNDLE (K Yuill) – Cast the off hind plate in running.

Race 2: Cleanaway Handicap 0-62 – 1300m

DUMMY SPIT (J Maskiell) – The gelding presented on course with a small laceration inside the right nostril and after being examined by the veterinarian was cleared to compete.

STYLE AND GRACE (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.

REDSNAP (C Hunter) – Raced wide throughout.

TALES OF CONFLICT (D Gillett) – Slow into stride.

QUEEN IN THE NORTH (S Logan) – Rider reported her saddle commenced to shift back rounding the home turn.

Race 3: Sitzler Weight-For-Age – 1200m

EARLY CROW (S Logan) – Cast the off hind plate in running.

LUMBER PUNK (A Sweeney) – Slow into stride.

SPACESHIP (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the gelding not racing to market expectations the rider advised that the gelding travelled comfortably in running but failed to quicken in the straight and did not finish off the race as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer G Clarke advised that the gelding had recovered well from the race but he would have a blood sample analysed and advise accordingly of the results.

Race 4: SIXT Car and Truck Rental - NT Handicap 0-70 – 1100m

RED WRAITH (K Yuill) – Bounded at the start.

SWING WITH JUNIOR (J Hampson) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: SignCity Handicap 0-58 – 1100m

At the request of SKY the start time of this event was varied to 4.06pm.

KESSLER (S Tsaikos) – At the request of the rider the gelding underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and when found to be lame in the off hind leg, was declared a late scratching by the Stewards at 4.03pm. Trainer A Forster advised that she must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

All bets placed on the gelding were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets placed prior to 4.03pm were subject to the following deductions:

1st 6c win, 3c place 2nd 8c place 3rd 8c place

CAPTAIN GEORGE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

RUPERT’S DELIGHT (M Pegus) – The geldings’ hind legs slipped at the start, losing ground.

FLASH FIORENTE (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly.

THE ALBION (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout.

DAUNTING DECISION (A Sweeney) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Race 6: BTC Constructions Buntine Handicap – 2050m

GRINZINGER ALLEE (D Gillett) – Raced wide from the 600m.

A BIG CHANCE (C Hunter) – Raced wide from the 1000m.

HAZELWOOD (A Sweeney) – Raced wide from the 800m.

Race 7: Ladbrokes NT Derby 3-Y-O – 2050m

All runners engaged in this race arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.

BRYCE (I Luximon) – Raced wide from the 600m.

FABERGE TZAR (J Maskiell) – After yielding ground from the 1000m the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer A Perdon was advised of the steps required for the gelding to return to racing in accordance with the RA Code of Practice.

MASATORA (J Todd) – Lay outwards under pressure in the early stages of the straight.

TILUSSION (P Denton) – Extremely fractious in the barriers and reared as the start was effected and lost ground. As the filly had offended in this manner previously, trainer C Baxter was advised that the filly must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

1ST MASATORA 2ND HE’S MAVERICK 3RD UNQUESTIONABLY

Post-race swab samples taken from all winners and HE’S MAVERICK (R7).

Pre-race samples were taken from: WHITTEN, STYLE AND GRACE, TALES OF CONFLICT, STORM THE FORTRESS, COLLISON, GRINZINGER ALLEE, MAKBEEL, CIELO D’ORO and all runners engaged in race 7.

All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol prior to riding.
