Race 2: Silks Darwin Handicap 0-66 – 1100m
Stewards interviewed trainer K Healy in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
PATRIOTIC KING (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
POMPEII EMPIRE (M Pegus) – Carried outwards by another runner rounding the first turn and raced wide from thereon.
REAL VALENTIA (I Luximon) – Lay outwards despite the efforts of the rider from the 650m until entering the home straight. Trainer K Healy was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manner.
ANKLE ROLEX (N Callow) – Resented the kickback and lay outwards rounding the first turn.
HELLIVIT (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.
CYCLONITE (A Sweeney) – Slow into stride. Carried outwards passing the 600m and raced wide from thereon.

Race 3: Brett Dobie Memorial 0-62 – 1300m
LI’L WONDER (M Pegus) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that in his opinion the mare wasn’t suited when unable to lead and after being crossed by another runner leaving the 1200m his mount did not appreciate the kickback and was off the bit through the middle stages and yielded ground in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LOTTO FIGHT (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout.
GO BUNDLE (S Tsaikos) – Lay inwards in the early and middle stages.

Race 4: Fusion Exhibition Rosebowl Fillies & Mares 0-70 – 1300m
SOUL SPIRIT (N Callow) – Lunged forward and struck its head in the barriers. The mare underwent a veterinary examination and subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.11pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Trainer P Cole advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.
All bets placed on the mare were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets placed prior to 4.11pm were subject to the following deductions:
1st 9c win, 6c place 2nd 11c place 3rd 12c place
ZOUMIST (S Logan) – Got its head down in the barriers and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete.
MOTIVATED MISS (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.
BEL SUONO (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that in his opinion his mount had over relaxed after being in the barriers for an extended period due to multiple runners being vetted. As a result the mare failed to muster early speed despite his urgings and was off the bit in running when racing in a rearward position.
REAL DIVINE (P Denton) – Slow to muster early speed.
General – Jockey Noel Callow injured his right hand in the barriers and after being examined by the Paramedics was cleared to fulfil his remaining riding engagement.

Race 5: Chris Williams Jewellers Handicap C2 – 1600m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
GIFT OF GOLD (S Logan) – Cast the off fore plate in the saddling enclosure, the plate was refitted by the farrier prior to the gelding proceeding to the barriers. Mistrode passing the 1400m.
MISSED VICTORY (D Gillett) – Raced keenly rounding the first turn and again leaving the 1000m.
MAGNETIC TYCOON (A Sweeney) – Fractious prior to the start and commenced awkwardly.
PACADOW (E Lines) – Bumped at the start.
GORDON BLEU (I Luximon) – Raced greenly in the early stages and became unbalanced after contacting the running rail near the 1250m.
NICODEMUS (S Tsaikos) – Slow into stride. Steadied out from heels near the 1250m.
RAID THE SPOILS (C Hunter) – Bumped at the start.
1ST PACADOW 2ND KIEFFER 3RD MAGNETIC TYCOON
Race 6: Toyota Finance Cup 0-76 – 1600m
All runners engaged in this race arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.

PINK PANTHER (J Todd) – Raced into restricted room approaching the first turn.

General:
Post-race swab samples taken from all winners and HAMLET VON SNITZEL (R6).
Pre-race samples were taken from: IDEAS MAN, POMPEII EMPIRE, ANKLE ROLEX, CYCLONITE, LORD FENRIR, MANUKA BAY, MUTANY, FLY NICE, CORDEN, GORDON BLEU, OLIVER BULLET & all runners engaged in race 6.
All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol prior to riding.
