General - After riding in the first race jockey A Nicholls was unfit to continue riding due to dehydration, and the following riding replacements were approved:

Race 1: Arctic Installations Handicap 0-66 – 1300m
RAFFALLI (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly.
TALES OF CONFLICT (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly.
SOONALI (A Sweeney) – Steadied back from heels when racing keenly leaving the 900m.
HEROIC SPIRIT (C Hunter) – Resented the kickback and lost momentum between 1100m and 800m.

Race 2: AFA Insurance Brokers Handicap 0-76 – 1200m
LUMBER PUNK (J Todd) – Raced wide on straightening.
KERIOTH (T Doyle) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Rider struck his right foot on the barrier gate at the start and ripped his boot. He was examined by the Paramedics after the race and cleared to continue riding.
POP MAGIC (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide from the 600m.
MATHEMATICS (S Logan) – Bumped at the start.
1ST KERIOTH 2ND CONCLAVE PRINCE 3RD BUDGERIGAR
Race 3: Merit Partners Maiden SW – 1200m
MEANT FOR MARS (S Tsaikos) – Veered inwards at the start. Lay inwards rounding the first turn.
RIP EDITION (I Luximon) – Raced greenly in the back straight, tightened for room and checked from heels near the 650m.
HOTIM ENGLISH (A Nicholls) – Commenced to resent the kickback in the back straight and dropped the bit, failing to race competitively. Trainer E Clarke was advised that in the circumstances the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
PROHIBITED (J Hampson) – Bumped at the start.
SHE’LL BE RIGHT (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
TAJALDIN (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide throughout.
ARIARNE (N Callow) – Fractious prior to the start and lunged forward striking the front gates. The mare underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to compete. Lay out rounding the first turn. The veterinarian reported the mare returned from the race with blood in the mouth.
General – On inquiry it was established that near the 650m RIP EDITION (I Luximon) was tightened for room and checked from heels when racing greenly between ARIARNE (N Callow) that lay outwards despite the effort of its rider and MEANT FOR MARS (S Tsaikos) that shifted marginally. Stewards were satisfied that no rider was at fault in this incident.

Race 4: Sunbuild Pty Ltd TROBIS Handicap 3YO BM66 – 1100m
DON’T BE DRAMATIC (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
WILD BEAU (A Sweeney) – Veered inwards at the start. Cast the near fore plate in running.
MIAMI VICE (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout.
SHEEZEL (T Doyle) – Slow into stride.
1ST WILD BEAU 2ND STARTON 3RD ANGELIQUE
Race 5: FRM Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Handicap 0-58 – 1000m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
EGYPTIAN TYCOON (M Pegus) – Crowded and steadied over the concluding stages.
REVOLUTIONIST (S Tsaikos) – Crowded and steadied near the 700m. Checked to avoid the fall near the 650m.
APLOMADO (T Doyle) – Clipped heels and blundered near the 650m, dislodging the rider. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding has sustained a laceration to the off-fore fetlock.
HADRIAN’S WALL (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout.
IRASCIBLE MISS (J Todd) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination in the race day stalls and was cleared to compete. Checked to avoid the fall near the 650m.
General – Jockey T Doyle was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital after being dislodged from APLOMADO in this event. An inquiry into this incident was opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
On inquiry it was established that over the concluding stages EGYPTIAN TYCOON (M Pegus) was crowded and steadied when tightened for room between POLARISING (S Logan) that shifted out marginally and ADELAIDE FEVER (A Sweeney) that shifted inwards under pressure. Jockey A Sweeney was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) as Stewards were of the opinion that the shift by his mount was the major contributing factor in the incident and he was advised to show more care in future.
1ST POLARISING 2ND ADELAIDE FEVER 3RD HADRIAN’S WALL
Race 6: Territory Isuzu Handicap 0-62 – 1600m
Due to the fall, the start time of this race was rescheduled to 5.20pm.
FORTIS IN ARMIS (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (M Pegus) – Commenced awkwardly. Cast the off hind plate in running.
QUALIS (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly. Following the unplaced performance a veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BEFANA (D Gillett) – Held tight passing the 500m and raced in restricted room until entering the home straight.

Race 7: Asian United Food Service Chief Minister’s Cup WFA – 1600m
All runners engaged in this race arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
The start time of this event was rescheduled to 5.55pm.
BEAR STORY (N Callow) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
CASTLEREAGH KID (D Gillett) – Yielded ground from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer D Morgan advised that in his opinion, the gelding had choked down in running and he intends to add a tongue tie next start.
HE’S THE ULTIMATE (J Hampson) – Raced wide throughout.
NOIR DE RUE (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
PLAYOFFS (A Sweeney) – Bumped and crowded at the start.
SON OF BIELSKI (M Pegus) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
TANAAWOL (S Tsaikos) – The veterinarian reported the gelding returned with a haematoma to the off shoulder.
1ST BEAR STORY 2ND WOLFBURN 3RD TANAAWOL
General:
Post-race swab samples taken from all winners and WOLFBURN (R7).
Pre-race samples were taken from: REBEL COUNTY, SHAKATTAK, BUDGERIGAR, HOTIM ENGLISH, PROHIBITED, SHE’LL BE RIGHT, SCUDETTO & all runners engaged in race 7.
All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol prior to riding.

Race 5 – Jockey A Sweeney, reprimanded for careless riding, AR131(a).
Race 7 – Jockey S Tsaikos, reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
