JACKSET declared a late scratching at 1:47 by order of the Stewards after the gelding took charge of its rider en-route to the barriers completing several laps of the track at a gallop before the rider could regain control and bring to a stop.

DELAGO LAD (L Maloney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn.

KIKUYU (I Luximon) – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and lost ground.

HEADLINE STORY (J Todd) – Knuckled on jumping and raced wide throughout.

General: When questioned regarding the improved performance of LAMOREE, trainer P Gardner advised that last start the gelding was inclined to lay outwards throughout the event causing its rider difficulties in handling. Back at his home track and a gear change to rectify the gelding laying out saw him race more tractable today.

BRAT (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly.

BOY BIG (C Hunter) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

BEFANA (L Maloney) – Shifted outwards rounding the home turn.

CUBIC ZIRCONIA (J Philpot) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted outwards rounding the home turn and when straightening for home shifted inwards off heels to obtain clear running.

BOSS SHELBY (J Hampson) – Slow into stride.

Race 5: State of Origin on the Big Screen Handicap BM54 - 1400m

TALES OF CONFLICT declared a late scratching at 4:19pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers and sustaining superficial wounds to its head area. Trainer C Hunter was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to again starting in a race.

QUALIS (E Lines) – Fractious in the barriers.

VALLEY PRINCE (D Gillett) – Shifted inwards under pressure from the 200m.

FABERGE TZAR (J Todd) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

SOONALI (P Denton) – Rider advised that he must ride his mounts out to the finish and not leave his rides open for question.

Race 7: Pioneer Park Anniversary Cup BM76 – 1400m

BROAD OUTLOOK declared a late scratching at 5:20pm on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in the near fore. Trainer W Savage was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness satisfactory to the Stewards must be produced prior to that gelding again starting in a race.

GREAT BUY (D Gillett) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and lay inwards rounding the home turn.

THAT’S JUSTIFIED (S Tsiakos) - Delayed the start by proving difficult to load. Trainer T Gillett was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding in this regard.

STARSPANGLED BABY (J Todd) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. When questioned, trainer Andrew Perdon was of the view that the mare was feeling the effects of the trip up to Alice Springs but he was happy with the mare over the past 24 hours for it to compete today.

FANTASY EAGLE (I Luximon) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
