Race 1: Two-Up TROBIS Class 2 Handicap – 1300m

STRETFORD END (W Davis) – When questioned rider advised that his saddle began to slip from the 500m and subsequently he was unable to test his mount from there on. The rider was reminded of his obligation under AR114(2)(a) to report anything that may affect the running of his horse.

GOTTA BEAT (S Logan) – Cast off hind plate in running. Rider reported the mare had a tendency to lay inwards throughout the race. Trainer P Johnston advised that the mare will now be retired.

MEANT FOR MARS (J Hampson) – Inclined to over race in the early and middle stages.

GELATA (V Arnott) – As the start was affected the mare refused to jump and took no further part of the race. Whilst Trainer P Johnston advised that the mare will now be retired, he was further advised that the mare would need to undertake a barrier trial prior to racing again.

Race 2: ANZAC Day Handicap BMNT – 1200m

SIAKAM (A Sweeney) – Raced wide from the 400m.

As the start was affected the barrier 4 gate was slow to open and as a result the gelding was slow to begin and was unable to obtain its usual forward position. Stewards when considering the provisions of AR204(c) deemed the gelding to be a starter as it was placed 3rd in this event.

SWING WITH JUNIOR (E Lines) – Shifted inwards passing the 900m.

ZOUMIST (S Logan) – Steadied off heels passing the 900m.

General – On inquiry, Apprentice Jockey E Lines (SWING WITH JUNIOR) was reprimanded for engaging in careless riding in that she allowed her mount to shift inwards when insufficiency clear resulting in Jockey S Logan (ZOUMIST) having to steady to avoid heels.

Race 3: Light Horse Brigade Handicap BM54 – 1200m

MOTIVATED MISS (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly. Inclined to over race in the early stages. Steadied off heels at the 700m when shifting outwards to obtain clear running.

KIRAKAT (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly and shifted out under pressure at the 200m.

YAROOMBA (J Todd) – As the start was affected the gelding stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground.

STARS THE LIMIT (C Hunter) – Bounded on jumping and race wide throughout.
