Race 1: ROANT Handicap 0-58 – 1100m
GO BUNDLE (W Davis) – Crowded and restrained passing the 800m.
MAKE AN EFFORT (B Johnson) – Bumped outwards at the start. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a laceration to the near fore heel and off fore pastern and abrasions to both hind legs.
MADAME ROMANOV (J Hampson) – Bumped and carried outwards at the start. Raced wide from the 600m.
MINISTER (I Luximon) – Slow into stride.
FLYING BARTY (C Wells) – Crowded and bumped at the start.
General – On inquiry, it was established that approaching the 800m apprentice B Johnson (MAKE AN EFFORT) allowed her mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in GO BUNDLE (W Davis) being crowded and steadied. Apprentice B Johnson was severely reprimanded for engaging in careless riding and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground in future.

Race 2: Vale John Russell Handicap – 1100m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
A BIG CHANCE (D Gillett) – Failed to muster early speed.
DESERT DREAMER (A Sweeney) – Contacted the inside running rail near the 700m.

Race 3: National Apprentice Race Series (Heat 7) Handicap BM54 – 1300m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
SUPREMO (J Doyle) – Raced wide throughout.
GO BARNEY GO (L Maloney) – Bounded at the start, with the rider’s helmet making contact with the overhead bar of the barriers. He became unbalanced as a result and the gelding lost ground. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Race 4: ANZAC Day Races 25 April Handicap 0-70 – 1200m
BAT PAD (I Luximon) – Raced wide from the 600m.
SOUL SPIRIT (W Davis) – Underwent a veterinary examination after arriving on course and was cleared to compete.
ZOURISKY (A Sweeney) – A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 5: National Apprentice Race Series (Heat 8) Handicap C2 – 1200m
SPACESHIP (R Mahony) – Bumped at the start.
WHITTEN (J Hampson) – Impeded from heels and steadied inwards near the 175m.
NO RAIN NO FLOWERS (J Doyle) – Crowded and bumped at the start. Returned having bled from the offside nostril. Trainer C Pollard was advised of the requirements of AR79.
KIRAKAT (B Johnson) – Dwelt at the start and lost ground. Taken outwards passing the 800m and raced wide from thereon.
GOTTA BEAT (D Gillett) – Bumped at the start.
General – On inquiry it was established that leaving the 200m MAGNETIC TYCOON (C Wells) shifted ground uncorrected when under pressure, resulting in WHITTEN (J Hampson) being impeded from heels. Apprentice C Wells was cautioned and advised to ride with more care in similar circumstances.
1ST SPACESHIP 2ND WHITTEN 3RD MEANT FOR MARS
General:
Post-race swab samples taken from all winners.
Pre-race samples were taken from: ADELAIDE FEVER, GO BUNDLE, MADAME ROMANOV, HAMLET VON SNITZEL, ASSERTIN LADY & TURNSTAR.

Race 3 – Apprentice Jockey D Gillett, reprimanded for whip breach – AR132(7)(a)(ii).
