Following this race TRNT Chairman of Stewards David Hensler lodged a protest on behalf of the connections of the fourth placed ANGELLUCCIS (L Maloney) against the third placed ARROGANT MISS (A Sweeney) alleging interference near the 100m. It was established that approaching the 100m ARROGANT MISS commenced to shift outwards when being ridden along and leaving the 100m impeded the rightful running of ANGELLUCCIS and the rider had to stop riding for several strides to avoid heels. The Stewards were of the opinion that the ground lost in this incident was greater than the short neck margin between both runners at the finish and therefore the protest was upheld and the placing’s amended accordingly.
