Race 1: Alice Springs Family Dental Handicap 0-62 - 1200m
VALLEY PRINCE (D Stanley) – Raced wide throughout.
CYCLONITE (E Lines) – Slow into stride.
WOK STAR (A Sweeney) – Underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers. Tightened for room shortly after jumping and raced wide entering the home straight. Rider advised that after losing ground when tightened for room shortly after jumping, the mare resented the kickback and failed to maintain a forward position. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
1ST FLYING YISHU 2ND REAL VALENTIA 3RD CYCLONITE
Race 2: Hoskings Jewellers Handicap 0-58 - 1200m
VITESSE BREEZE (C Hunter) – Failed to muster early speed getting back and raced wide entering the home straight.
HAPPY FAMILY (D Stanley) – Commenced awkwardly.
ROULETTE QUEEN (A Sweeney) – Slow into stride. Tightened for room and restrained approaching the 100m.
TYQUENDO (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner. Cast its off front plate in running and sustained a hoof injury. Trainer T Halter advised that the gelding would now go for a spell.
LAMOREE (K Yuill) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and commenced to race wide from the 700m. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
DEVILRY (S Logan) – Shifted ground outwards for a number of strides over the concluding stages.
MAXIMS (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
General – On inquiry jockey S Logan (DEVILRY) pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in careless riding under AR131(a). The specifics being that approaching the 100m she permitted her mount to shift outwards when insufficiently clear resulting in ROULETTE QUEEN (A Sweeney) being tightened for room and restrained.
Jockey S Logan’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 NT meeting to commence midnight 7 April and to expire after 12 April, 2024 and in addition she was fined $300.

Race 3: Carla Furnishers Handicap 0-58 - 1200m
KIKUYU (J Todd) – When questioned about the gelding’s disappointing performance, rider could offer no explanation other than that his mount did race a little ungenerously early and did not respond to his riding. Trainer K Petrick advised that in her opinion the gelding was at the end of its preparation and will now be spelled.
PROTOSTAR (S Tsaikos) – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and lay outwards under pressure from the 200m.
SWEET AS SCANDI (I Luximon) – Lay outwards rounding the home turn when racing in restricted room.
IL DON CAVALLO (S Logan) – Bounded on jumping.
ZOUSTORM (J Philpot) – Commenced awkwardly.
JEN’S REWARD (D Stanley) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner and raced wide entering the home straight.
REAL DIVINE (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Ladbrokes Blackbook Maiden Plate SW - 1100m
ANOTHER VAL (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
BRAVE FLING (S Logan) – Knuckled slightly on jumping.
INTO THE FURY (J Todd) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
MAJESTICAL (D Stanley) – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected losing ground. Raced wide entering the home straight.
OLD MATE SMITHY (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
CHUCKAMICKY (S Fawke) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
FOREVER WILD (E Lines) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Impeded for clear running final 150m with its rider unable to fully test her mount.

Race 5: Swank Shoes Alice Springs Handicap 0-66 - 1000m
BULLINACHINASHOP (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly. L Schmidt foreman for T Halter was advised that the mare will need to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards after being difficult to load causing a delay to the start of this race.
MADAM MISCHIEF (S Logan) – Impeded for clear running at the 150m before shifting outwards off heels to obtain clear running.
VANDERLAND (I Luximon) – Reared on jumping.
ACRES MIDNIGHT (L Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout before shifting inwards at the top of the home straight.

Race 6: Hannas of Toowoomba Handicap BM76 - 1400m
COMANCHE BRAVE (K Yuill) – Declared a late scratching at 3.26pm by order of the Stewards as the gelding kicked out at barrier staff and refused to load into the barriers. Trainer P Gardner was advised that given the gelding’s extensive previous history of offending in this manner, the Stewards have now invoked the provisions of AR75(1)(b) and the gelding will not be permitted to race again.
All bets were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to all winning bets placed prior to 3.26pm.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in regards to the riding instructions he was to issue his riders as he had multiple runners in this event.
IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly losing some ground.
BAROCCO BAR (L Maloney) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted inwards abruptly at the 300m when tested with the whip and clipped the heels of another runner, knuckled and dislodged its rider.
HONG KONG FIGHTER (J Hampson) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
NICODEMUS (J Todd) – Fractious in the barriers.
HEY BULL (K Yuill) – Commenced awkwardly.
General – It was established that near the 300m BAROCCO BAR (L Maloney) shifted inwards abruptly when tested with the whip and clipped the heels of BARANI (A Sweeney). BAROCCO BAR knuckled and dislodged the rider. Apprentice L Maloney was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital and after medical assessment was cleared to ride at the race meeting in Alice Springs tomorrow (7 April, 2024).

All acceptors for this race underwent a veterinary examination on Thursday 4 April, 2024. Stewards interviewed trainer T Gillett in regards to the riding instructions he was to issue his riders as he had multiple runners in this event.
SUPREME ATTRACTION (S Tsaikos) – Slow into stride and momentarily tightened for room at the 150m.
GREAT BUY (D Gillett) – Shifted inwards at the 150m.
EARLY CROW (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.
EXPERT WITNESS (J Hampson) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
KICKATORP (J Philpot) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 150m when tightened for room.
KUMICHO (K Yuill) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
General – On inquiry it was established that near the 150m SUPREME ATTRACTION (S Tsaikos) was momentarily tightened for room between GREAT BUY (D Gillett) that shifted in and KICKATORP (J Philpot) that also shifted ground outwards. Stewards were satisfied that no rider had ridden carelessly in this incident.

All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol.
Post-race samples were taken from all winners, KICKATORP and NOBLE MAGNATE (R8).
Pre-race samples were taken from CHUCKAMICKY, JEN’S REWARD, IL DON CAVALLO, LAMOREE, HAPPY FAMILY, REMORSELESS and all runners engaged in race 8.
