General: As there was a delay with the charter flight carrying riders into Alice Springs today, Stewards put back the first race from 12:50pm to 1:55pm and amended the start times for all other races. As it became evident approaching mid-day that the ETA of the charter plane would not permit 5 of the riders on board to fulfil their engagements in race one, Stewards approved the following riding changes and late scratchings:

THE GIRL’S BOY (I Luximon) – Commenced to shift inwards under pressure from the 200m.

MATHEMATICS (E Lines) – Commenced awkwardly and inclined to over-race in the early stages.
ENVENOMATE (J Hampson) – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected losing some ground. Raced wide throughout. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding found that it had cast its off fore plate and had a wound under that hoof.
IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly and commenced to shift inwards under pressure from the 100m.

MISS MIDUKI (J Todd) – Rider reported that the mare hung outwards throughout the race. A subsequent veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
ESASHI (D Gillett) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.
FUTURE DREAMS (L Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

FLYING YISHU (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Commenced to over-race fiercely into the first turn causing its rider difficulties in controlling the gelding and continued to race fiercely until entering the back straight. Trainer G Connor, through his representative, was advised that he must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
LUNCH SESSION (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
TAIPAN TOMMY (E Lines) – Commenced to shift outwards under pressure from the 200m.
TINTERN POWER (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
FIRSTLUV (D Gillett) – Raced wide throughout.
ZOUSTORM (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.

NASHA (C Hunter) – Got its head down as start was effected causing its rider to lose her near side rein and become momentarily unbalanced.
