After viewing the footage, S Tsaikos lodged a protest against the 3rd placegetter MIRACOLI (A Sweeney) alleging interference heading into the first turn. Evidence was taken from both riders and trainers D Leech (MIRACOLI) and L Whittle (PROPHESIER). After considering the evidence, Stewards dismissed the protest and ordered all placings to stand. In arriving at that decision, Stewards acknowledge that whilst PROPHESIER did lose some ground by being tightened into the first turn, and the margin was a nose between 3rd and 4th, the gelding had drawn level with MIRACOLI at the 750m. giving it every opportunity to race ahead if good enough.
