Race 1: Mindil Beach Casino Resort 0-58 Handicap – 1300m
CHARRETERA (W Davis) – Cast the off-fore plate in running.
TO THE POINT (J Hampson) – Raced keenly passing the 1000m. Restrained back from heels losing ground near the 700m.
LOOKING FOR YOU (E Lines) – Contacted the inside running rail near the 700m and mistrode losing several lengths.
BARTY AYA (M Kennedy) – Raced wide throughout.
General – On inquiry it was established that LOOKING FOR YOU (E Lines) received no pressure from any other runner but made contact with the running rail near the 700m. The gelding took fright and mistrode, unbalancing the rider and as a result lost several lengths. TO THE POINT (J Hampson) was following and had to be restrained from heels and lost ground. No action was taken over this incident.

Race 2: Great Northern TROBIS 3&4YO C2 Handicap – 1200m
WHITTEN (E Lines) – Crowded inwards near the 700m.
GOTTA BEAT (M Kennedy) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
GELATA (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly. Tightened for room and severely checked near the 700m.
1ST WHITTEN 2ND STARSPANGLEDANCER 3RD ERRONEOUS
General – On inquiry apprentice M Kennedy (GOTTA BEAT) pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in careless riding under AR131(a). The specifics being that near the 700m she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent her mount from shifting inwards resulting in WHITTEN (E Lines) being crowded inwards onto GELATA (W Davis) causing that mare to be tightened for room and severely checked. Visiting apprentice M Kennedy had her permit to ride in races suspended for a period of 3 Queensland race meetings to expire after 16 February 2024.
Race 3: Cup Carnival – Tickets on Sale 12th February 0-70 Handicap – 1200m

Race 4: Ladbrokes Summer Sprint Series (Heat 5) 0-76 Handicap – 1100m
VALLABAR (J Todd) – Crowded and bumped shortly after the start.
CANTON KID (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start. Returned having bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion trainer G Lefoe was advised of the requirement of AR79.
PATRIOTIC KING (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
1ST EL MAGNIFICENCE 2ND MR HAVE A CHAT 3RD VALLABAR.
Race 5: Remembering Ken Rogerson 0-64 Handicap – 1600m
ANKLE ROLEX (M Kennedy) – Raced wide throughout.
FISCHER (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in running and yielded ground from the 600m. A post-race vet examination revealed the gelding lame in the near hind and to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer T Halter was advised a veterinary clearance is required for the gelding prior to racing again.
