General – As jockey A Nicholls was indisposed through illness, the following replacements were approved and action taken:
Race 1 SOLID ROCK (S Logan),
Race 4 PATRIA (A Sweeney),
Race 6 HAZELWOOD - late scratching 12.28pm (no rider available)
Jockey A Nicholls is required to present a medical clearance prior to accepting race rides.
Race 1: Bridge Toyota TROBIS Maiden Plate – 1300m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
ENUFF RED (J Hampson) – Lay outwards rounding the first turn having to be steadied near the 650m.
FLASH FIORENTE (P Denton) – Steadied from heels and taken inwards bumping with another runner passing the 1000m.
MUTANY (A Sweeney) – Rider changed the whip to his right hand and the gelding veered inwards when tested with the whip leaving the 100m.
PALENTINO ROSSI (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.
SOLID ROCK (S Logan) – Raced wide throughout. The gelding returned with a swollen right eye after being struck by a clod. Following the unplaced performance trainer C Pollard advised that the gelding will now be retired.
GELATA (M Kennedy) – Slow into stride.
PROKLISI (E Lines) – Commenced awkwardly. Bumped and unbalanced passing the 1000m.
General – On inquiry jockey S Tsaikos pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in careless riding. The specifics were that passing the 1000m he permitted NO RAIN NO FLOWERS to shift in when not fully clear resulting in FLASH FIORENTE (P Denton) being steadied from heels shifting inwards and bumping with and unbalancing PROKLISI (E Lines). Jockey S Tsaikos had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 9 February, 2024.

Race 2: Chinese New Year BM76 Handicap – 1300m
General – Whilst conducting routine examinations of each runner upon arrival on course the Stewards identified that ENVENOMATE trained by D Leech had a swollen haematoma on the near side jugular vein. Veterinarian Dr J Farebrother examined the site of the haematoma and reported that in his opinion, an injection had been administered within the previous 24 hours. Acting under the provisions of AR254(2) the Stewards withdrew the gelding from competing in its engagement in Race 2. Stewards collected blood and urine samples from the gelding. An inquiry was opened into this matter and after taking initial evidence and statements, the matter was adjourned pending the results of the collected samples.
ENVENOMATE (J Hampson) – Declared a late scratching at 1.48pm by order of the Stewards under the provisions of AR254(2).
SACCHARO (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout.
VOLATORE (S Logan) – Steadied leaving the 900m due to the moderate pace.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Mate Mode BM54 Handicap – 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
CORDYCEPS MIRICLE (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
BEATIFICATION (S Logan) – Veered inwards at the start. Cast the near hind plate in running.
TURNSTAR (E Lines) – Crowded and bumped at the start. Rider fumbled her whip near the 250m.
CHIEF MONDO (J Todd) – Crowded and bumped at the start.

Race 4: TRNT Off The Track Wet Season Series Final 0-70 Handicap – 1200m
ANKLE ROLEX (M Kennedy) – Knuckled at the start. Rider reported her mount was off the bit and lay outwards in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore leg and to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer P Johnston was advised that a veterinary clearance is required prior to the gelding racing again.
ALPHA FLIGHT (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
PATRIA (A Sweeney) –Bumped and hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.
POP MAGIC (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.
MAKE AN EFFORT (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Returned having bled from the left nostril. Trainer T Logan was advised prior to racing again, the mare must gallop satisfactorily in accordance with AR79.
SWING WITH JUNIOR (J Hampson) – Cast the off fore plate in running.

Race 5: Celebrate Valentines Day At The Bay At Silks 14 February 0-58 Handicap – 1000m
ASSERTIN LADY (S Tsaikos) – declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 4.39pm after refusing to proceed to the barriers. Trainer C Pollard was advised that the mare must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. All bets placed on the mare were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to successful bets placed prior to 4.39pm.

ADELAIDE FEVER (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer G Clarke was advised that a veterinary clearance is required prior to the mare racing again.
APLOMADO (E Lines) – Cast the off hind plate in running.
BIG FEELINGS (W Davis) – Slow into stride.
GOTTA BEAT (M Kennedy) – Bumped at the start.

Race 6: Sportsbet C2 Handicap – 1600m
STRETFORD END (S Tsaikos) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly. Crowded and bumped shortly after the start.
PRINCESS PANCAKES (P Denton) – Veered out at the start and bumped another runner and then crowded shortly after. Raced wide from the 600m.
NEW YORK SPIRIT (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and crowded shortly after the start. After failing to race competitively, a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke advised the mare will now be retired.
MISS EPERNAY (M Kennedy) – Bumped and carried outwards shortly after the start.
ROJO BOOM (S Logan) – Slow into stride.
