Stewards interviewed trainers G Clarke and P Cole in relation to the riding instructions they intended to issue as each stable had multiple runners in the event.
SON OF BIELSKI (M Pegus) – Raced wide on straightening.
ANKLE ROLEX (P Shiers) – Lay outwards in running and wide throughout. Trainer P Johnston advised that the gelding would be examined by an equine dentist prior to racing again.
KENT STREET (Sonja Logan) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Returned having bled from the right nostril and will not be permitted to race until completing a satisfactory gallop in accordance with AR79.
PLAGUE STONE (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.
LOOKING FOR YOU (E Lines) – Bumped at the start.
ZOURISKY (J Todd) – Slow into stride.

BEL’S BANNER (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
RAFFALLI (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout. Bumped with another runner on straightening.
REBEL COUNTY (C Hunter) – Fractious prior to the start.
SOUL SPIRIT (A Sweeney) – Bumped with another runner on straightening.

Race 3: TAB Same Race Multi BM54 Handicap – 1100m
PATRIA (P Denton) – Bounded at the start.
STARSPANGLEDANCER (J Todd) – A post race veterinary examination detected the mare to have a pathological cardiac arrhythmia. In accordance with the RA Code of Practice the mare but undergo specific tests and a veterinary clearance issued prior to racing again.
HATTAN MAN (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.
1ST VELVET REVOLUTION 2ND PATRIA 3RD TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN
Race 4: Sportsbet TROBIS C2 Handicap – 1000m
RETIRO (P Shiers) – Dipped at the start.
CONTROL FREAK (S Logan) – Commenced to lay inwards leaving the 800m and took charge of the rider and despite her efforts, the gelding shifted ground near the 600m causing interference to multiple runners. Trainer T Logan subsequently reported the gelding had returned to the stable with an injury to the near fore tendon. A veterinary clearance will be required, and the gelding must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
STARS THE LIMIT (S Tsaikos) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly. Checked severely near 600m
FLY NICE (A Sweeney) – Pressured inwards near the 600m.
DEEMOUNT (C Hunter) – Carried inwards near the 600m.
General – On inquiry it was established that leaving the 600m CONTROL FREAK (S Logan) shifted ground when laying inwards causing FLY NICE and DEEMOUNT to be taken inwards resulting in STARS THE LIMIT (S Tsaikos) being severely checked. As this incident was the result of CONTROL FREAK taking charge of the rider, the gelding must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
1ST EXCEEDINGLY MAGIC 2ND PATRIOTIC KING 3RD FLY NICE
Race 5: Bet365 0-58 Handicap – 1600m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
FREDDY THE EAGLE (S Logan) – Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight.
FIELD COMMANDER (P Denton) – Raced wide from the 500m.
TURF MAN (V Arnott) – Slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Following the unplaced performance trainer C Pollard advised the gelding would be retired.
