PROHIBITED – declared a late scratching at 9.22am by order of the Stewards due to a flight delay resulting in apprentice I Luximon being unable to fulfil this engagement.

GUNSHOT GLITTER (J Todd) – Raced wide from the 500m.

LORD FENRIR (W Davis) – Veered inwards passing the 100m.

TOUGH CRITIC (S Logan) – Slow into stride. Lay out through the middle stages. Returned with blood in the mouth.

GELATA (M Salter) – Slow into stride.

IS THAT YOU ETHEL (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer J Manning advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

NEW YORK SPIRIT (S Tsaikos) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer G Clarke advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

Stewards interviewed trainer G. Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

Jockey P Shiers replaced apprentice I Luximon (flight delay) as the rider of SYNCLINE.

SYNCLINE (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

MR CASHMAN (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

CITY REGAL (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

NIEWAND (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CUDJERIE (P Shiers) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer C Pollard advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

DAMASCUS MOMENT (V Arnott) – Bumped at the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer P Cole’s representative advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

SWING WITH JUNIOR (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Shifted inwards under pressure in the straight.

PLAGUE STONE (W Davis) – Raced fiercely into the first turn and had to be restrained outwards from heels passing the 600m losing ground.

POP MAGIC (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

CHIEF MONDO (A Nicholls) – Commenced awkwardly.

CIAO UNO (M Salter) – Raced wide throughout.

WYNTER LADY (I Luximon) – Bumped at the start.

Race 5: TAB Bets Friends 0-58 Handicap – 1000m

JET JACKSON (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

RISING FIRE (S Logan) – Bumped and crowded near the 1500m.

ZOU ZOU KACANARKIS (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer T Halter advised that she must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

SUPREMO (W Davis) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer P Cole’s representative advised that prior to racing or trialling again, the gelding must be cleared by a veterinarian after a satisfactory ECG is performed at rest and a satisfactory cardiac auscultation following a 1000m gallop.

BEL SUONO (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

BENEVOLENT (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly.

THE ALBION (M Salter) – Carried inwards and bumped near the 1500m.

General – On inquiry it was established that approaching the 1500m BENEVOLENT (I Luximon) shifted inwards slightly resulting in THE ALBION being carried inwards and bumping with and crowding RISING FIRE. Stewards accepted that in this incident apprentice I Luximon made an effort to straighten his mount when he realised it was shifting ground and therefore he was advised to exercise more care in future.
