From DTC Meeting 2 August 2023 - Race 4 The Darwin Racing TROBIS Maiden Plate - 1300m

Stewards inquired into the reason for Apprentice D. Gillett being dislodged from LETS SOLDIER ON near the 500m. After taking evidence from Apprentice D. Gillett, host trainer T Gillett and jockey A. Sweeney (QUICK RETURN), it was established that leaving the 600m, LETS SOLIDIER ON commenced to race keenly and improved into a marginal run to the inside of QUICK RETURN and when that gelding shifted in slightly, LETS SOLDIER ON clipped heels, knuckled and unbalanced Apprentice D. Gillett resulting in her being dislodged. Stewards were satisfied on consideration of the evidence of the riders and review of the patrol footage that no rider had ridden carelessly and took the matter no further other than to remind both riders to exercise greater caution in future.
