General from DTC meeting 20 May, 2023 – Race 4: Trainer T Logan advised that MAKE AN EFFORT underwent an endoscopic examination and was diagnosed as a grade 4 roarer. The mare will undergo corrective throat surgery and after spelling will be required to barrier trial prior to racing again.

 

Race 1: Bet 365 0-64 Handicap – 1300m

GINGER CREEK (J Hampson) – Slow into stride

KIKUYU (P Denton) – The veterinarian advised that the gelding returned with blood in the mouth.

FREDDY THE EAGLE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned rider advised that his mount changed stride and shifted outwards near the 650m and had to be steadied losing momentum.

Race 2: TAB We’re On 0-70 Handicap – 1200m

CANTON KID (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Sitzler TROBIS 3YO BMNT Handicap – 1100m

IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (M Pegus) – Raced wide throughout.

MEANT FOR MARS (W Davis) – Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer C Pollard was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding in this regard.

Race 4: Adelaide River Cup on 3 June BM76 Handicap – 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

FROMTHENEVERNEVER (S Wiseman) – Withdrawn with the approval of the Stewards after sustaining an injury to the near hind leg after acceptances.

CIELO D’ORO (W Davis) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

CYCLONITE (V Arnott) – Fractious prior to the start.

LITTLE TOWN BLUES (E Lines) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced strongly in the early stages and became unbalanced after contacting another runner near the 1000m.

Race 5: Bridge Toyota Maiden Plate – 1000m

HELLO HOLLYWOOD (M Pegus) – Lay outwards rounding the first turn.

OLD MATE SMITHY (P Denton) – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

STARSPANGLEDANCER (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that after beginning well he went forward and raced outside the leader but rounding the first turn the filly raced ungenerously and got its head up losing momentum. He explained that his mount raced awkwardly around the home turn and did not finish the race off as anticipated but was also mindful the filly was having its first start on the track. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 6: Ladbrokes 0-58 Handicap – 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

CISALPINE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

NEW ENTERPRISE (P Shiers) – Raced wide on straightening.

I’M A DREAMER (J Hampson) – Fractious prior to the start.

TURF MAN (M Pegus) – Slow into stride.

MIROKU (V Arnott) – Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 600m.

MR RANGER (C Hunter) – Bumped at the start. Bled from both nostrils following the event. As this was the first occasion trainer J Peacock was advised of the provisions of AR 79.

MISS EPERNAY (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout.
