NOKONDI (E Lines) – When racing at the rear of the field the gelding contacted the outside running rail near the 500m and dislodged the rider. Rider advised that her mount commenced awkwardly and felt amiss in its action and she therefore attempted to ease up but she had difficulty controlling the gelding and despite her efforts, it continued to shift outwards until eventually making contact with the outside running rail near the 500m. After contacting the rail, the gelding knuckled and the rider was dislodged. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore and near hind legs. Trainer P Cole was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance and in the circumstances, the gelding will be required to barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
