General – As jockey A Nicholls was indisposed due to illness he was replaced by apprentice I Luximon on (R1) ALL STARDOM, (R2) GLOBAL WONDER & (R3) EXPECT A HERO.
Race 1: Melbourne Cup Day 1st November 0-64 Handicap – 1300m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
DREAM WEAVER and DON’T SAY IT were presented to compete incorrectly saddled. This necessitated the respective riders having to reweigh prior to both runners being resaddled. Trainers C Pollard and T Halter were each fined $250 for negligence in the saddling process. As a result of this incident the start time of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes.
ALL STARDOM (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly.
FREDDY THE EAGLE (S Wiseman) – Lay inwards under pressure inside the final 75m.
AFTERNOON TEA (V Arnott) – Returned with a laceration to the near hind leg.

Race 2: Oktoberfest at the Bay 22nd October 0-70 Handicap – 1200m
GLOBAL WONDER (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout.
ILLUSTRATING LAW (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount travelled comfortably in running until contacting the inside running rail near the 650m and as a result the gelding reacted by changing stride and shifting outwards abruptly. He further explained that the gelding was off the bit from thereon and did not finish the race off as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.
SWING WITH JUNIOR (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly. Carried outwards near the 650m.
BLUEBERRY BOY (S Wiseman) – Steadied when racing keenly near the 850m.

Race 3: Book Your Christmas Party BM54 Handicap – 1100m
EXPECT A HERO (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
HATTAN MAN (C Hunter) – Bumped at the start.
HARD TO EXCEL (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.
LUCKY DOG (S Tsaikos) – Fractious prior to the start. Contacted the running rail and became unbalanced near the 700m.
LIGHT AND DARK (V Arnott) – Crowded and bumped at the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Impeded for clear running between the 150m and the 50m.
ZIP LANE (S Wiseman) – Cast the off fore plate in running.

Race 4: Silks Darwin TROBIS C2 Handicap – 1000m
EARLY CROW (P Shiers) – Carried outwards passing the 650m.
BOLT ACTION (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and then veered outwards. Rider reported as his mount resented the kickback and as a result was reluctant to stretch out in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
CHAMPS D’OR (I Luximon) – Hampered at the start losing ground.
MADAME ROMANOV (C Hunter) – Tightened for room and checked to avoid heels near the 650m.
MY MONARO (W Davis) – Rider reported his mount failed to negotiate the first turn and despite his efforts veered outwards hampering two other runners near the 650m and took no further competitive part in the event. Trainer M Nyhan was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

Race 5: Ladbrokes TROBIS C2 Handicap - 1000m
At the request of SKY the start time was amended to 4.54pm.
ROCK WAVE (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly.
POINT’S PICK (P Shiers) – Fractious prior to the start. Bumped heavily at the start.
AIR COMMAND (J Todd) – Bumped shortly after the start.
LITTLE KIBO (S Tsaikos) – Knuckled at the start and then bumped heavily with another runner. Raced wide throughout.

Race 6: TAB 0-58 Handicap – 1600m
At the request of SKY the start time was amended to 5.24pm.
PRINCE RUBAN (J Todd) – Shifted inwards under pressure approaching the 100m and again inside the final 50m.
GREAT BOULDER (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.
NO STRINGS (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Cast the near fore plate in running.
RUBY RUBY RUBY (S Tsaikos) – Bumped at the start. Steadied passing the 1400m and yielded ground from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind. Trainer C Pollard was advised that a veterinary clearance must be presented for the mare prior to racing again.
