Race 1: Cummins Euro VI, Ready When You Are Handicap 1200 metres
Stewards interviewed trainer J Gleeson in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.
FUTURE DREAMS (P Denton) – Slow into stride. Rider reported that the gelding raced in a flat manner. After the unplaced performance, a subsequent veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
BOY BIG (J Philpot) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner.
DEBBONAIRE BOY (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.
MORPHLING (S Robbins) – Crowded for room on jumping bumping with another runner. Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Cummins X15 Handicap 1100 metres
THE AMAZING TAHLIA declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3:38pm after refusing to load into the barriers. Trainer K Lamprecht was advised that prior to that mare again starting in a race, it must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
As no book-maker was on course, no deductions were applicable.
RADIO ROOM (D Morgan) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner. On returning to the mounting yard, was found to have bled from its off side nostril. Trainer G Connor was advised of his requirements under AR79.
WHITE KAPS (J Philpot) – Bumped with another runner close to the finish line.
GOLDEN RIPPLES (C Hunter) – On arriving at the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination after its rider had difficulties in pulling the mare up en-route to the barriers and then refusing to move once pulled up. Bumped with another runner close to the finish line.
THE STOCKBROKER (I Luximon) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Cummins Cup 1400 metres
THAT’S JUSTIFIED (D Gillett) – Taken outwards by another runner shortly after jumping. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight. Rider reminded of her obligations to ride her mounts out to the line.
MATHMEMATICS (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
VALLEY PRINCE (D Morgan) – Bounded on jumping and shifted outwards shortly after.
STAR OF MONSOON (A Nicholls) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and steadied off heels shortly after.
ZELRING (S Wiseman) – Steadied off heels shortly after jumping and raced wide throughout.
FANTASY EAGLE (NZ) (I Luximon) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

ABREHA (J Philpot) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
COUNTERINTELIGENCE (W Davis) – Knuckled and bumped with another runner on jumping.
TOGUCHI (I Luximon) – On jumping shifted inwards abruptly bumping with another runner. Rider reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mounts when shifting ground quickly.

Race 5: Ladbrokes Winter Series Final 1200 metres
SEDONA (A Nicholls) – Commenced awkwardly.
COLHOUN (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
ME CABO (D Morgan) – Knuckled slightly on jumping.
ANANAGRAM (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
LIBERTY BLUE (S Wiseman) – Inclined to lay outwards under pressure down the length of the straight causing its rider some difficulties in riding out to the line. Trainer L Whittle was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding and a similar occurrence may result in further action being taken.
SHOAL RIVER (S Robbins) – Slow into stride.

General: Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident that occurred at the meeting held at Alice Springs on Saturday 20th August involving apprentice I Luximon. He subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge of misconduct under AR228(b) relating to his behaviour after leaving the Stewards room after incurring a suspension for careless riding. Apprentice Luximon was fined $300. Stewards when considering penalty took into consideration that his behaviour was out of character, his genuine remorse for his actions and offer to pay for damage in the jockey’s room caused by his conduct.
Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
