General – As jockey P Crich was indisposed due to a medical condition the following replacements were approved:

Race 1: TRNT Off The Track 0-58 Handicap – 1200m
THE MISTRAL (J Todd) – Shifted ground inwards inside the final 100m.
NEW ROMAN (C Hunter) – Lay inwards under pressure in the straight.
SWEET CHEVAL (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.
SUDANN (P Denton) – The gelding returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer G Clarke was advised that as this was the first occasion the gelding will incur the mandatory embargo in accordance with AR79(4).
LATEST BENTLEY (S Wiseman) – Raced wide from the 600m. Rider will be interviewed in relation to her use of the whip in this event.
VIETTI (J Hampson) – Slow to begin.
BILL OF RIGHTS (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Samsung Trobis 3yold Benchmark 68 Handicap – 1200m
ISOLA BAY (B Rawiller) – Rider will be interviewed in relation to his use of the whip in this event.
SUPER FAMOUS (A Nicholls) – Lay outwards through the middle stages. Shifted inwards quickly near the 1100m and bumped another runner. Rider was cautioned over this incident.
FLYING START (J Philpot) – Fractious prior to the start and commenced awkwardly.
TURNSTAR (V Arnott) – Bumped passing the 1100m. Returned with blood in the mouth from a laceration.
STARLITE REBEL (J Hampson) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 3: Darwin Racing Maiden – 1100m
The start time of this event was delayed several minutes due to incidents at the barriers.
LAYLAH’S WISH (W Davis) – Fractious in the barriers and after becoming cast was removed and after undergoing a veterinary examination was declared unfit to compete and subsequently declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3.12pm. The following deductions were applicable – 9c win, 8c place, 11c place, 11c place.
Trainer P Cole was advised the filly must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
As UMFANA was in the adjoining barrier to LAYLAH’S WISH, that gelding was removed from the barriers and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete. HENESTROSA reared in the barriers and dislodged the rider, who was uninjured.
BOLD TROPIC (J Philpot) – Inconvenienced for some distance when carried outwards by another runner passing the 700m and raced wide from thereon.
FRACTION LATE (P Shiers) – Fractious prior to the start.
HENESTROSA (J Todd) – Fractious in the barriers and reared prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly and raced ungenerously in the early stages getting its head up and was severely checked near the 800m. Hung outwards racing into the first turn and took no further competitive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
FEAT OF FURY (S Wiseman) – Raced wide from the 650m.
RUBY RUBY RUBY (C Hunter) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Novotel and Mercure Darwin Airport Flying Sprint – 1100m
MIGHTY MURT (P Denton) – Raced wide on straightening.
MISTER MONARO (S Wiseman) – Raced wide throughout.
OVERRULED (S Fawke) – Knuckled at the start.
ROYAL TYKE (S Tsaikos) – Held up rounding the home turn.

KENT STREET (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start.
TSUGARU (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
TELEKINESIS (S Fawke) – Commenced awkwardly. The gelding returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer D Leech was advised that as this was the first occasion the gelding will incur the mandatory embargo in accordance with AR79(4).
EXPERT WITNESS (P Shiers) – Lay outwards from the 650m and had to be checked by its rider after shifting out across the heels of another runner near the 500m but finished the race off strongly in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned, rider expressed the opinion that his mount may have resented the tongue tie. Trainer T Halter undertook to remove the tongue tie and add a tongue control bit for the gelding’s next Start. Trainer was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding.

Race 6: Silks Gin and Jazz Night 0-70 Handicap – 1600m
HOLSTER (A Nicholls) – Slow into stride. Raced wide from the 500m.
DATASET (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.
RAAZOU (J Todd) – Yielded ground from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.
REAL DIVINE (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: TAB Metric Mile Handicap – 1600m
I AM THE FOX (P Shiers) – Carried outwards and bumped another runner at the start.
KAONIC (J Philpot) – Bumped outwards shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout.
DOMINUS (S Tsaikos) – Crowded and bumped at the start.
SACCHARO (W Davis) – Crowded and bumped at the start.
STAROUZ (J Todd) – Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
