General from DTC meeting 13 July, 2022 – Race 4
Stewards today inquired into the reason for apprentice J Hampson being dislodged from her mount IMA PUPPET in the event. Evidence was taken from apprentice J Hampson, host trainer T Halter, jockeys S Fawke (MADAM MISCHIEF) and J Todd (BEL’S BANNER). It was established that MADAM MISCHIEF was hard ridden from the 600m and near the 450m when giving ground, that mare shifted outwards slightly resulting in IMA PUPPET clipping the off hind heel of that runner near the 425m. As a result IMA PUPPET mistrode and unbalanced apprentice J Hampson and she was dislodged. Stewards were of the opinion that on the evidence no rider was at fault in this incident and it was deemed accidental.
Race 1: Mittys 0-66 Handicap – 1600m
At the request of SKY the following start times were amended:
R1 – 1.46pm, R2 - 2.26pm, R3 – 3.06pm, R4 – 3.41pm
JET JACKSON (S Wiseman) – Steadied when the pace eased passing the 1400m.
FEED THE MONSTER (S Fawke) – Commenced awkwardly and veered outwards at the start.
WILSONS PROM (J Todd) – Steadied getting its head up passing the 1400m. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount fail to respond to his urgings in the back straight and commenced to yield ground from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke advised that the gelding would have a short spell.
MANGIONE (P Denton) – Raced wide from the 700m.
MALIBU EDITION (J Huxtable) – Raced keenly into the 1400m turn.

GLOBAL WONDER (A Nichols) – Held up for clear running approaching the 400m.

Stewards interviewed trainer T Halter in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in this event.

LATEST BENTLEY (J Lyon) – Bumped at the start.
LIGHT AND DARK (V Arnott) – Scrambled at the start. Raced wide throughout.
