A protest lodged by Jockey S Fawke rider of 3rd placed RIKIBOBBY against second placed MIROKU alleging interference near the 1350m was dismissed. In dismissing the objection, Stewards were of the view that although MIROKU, which was racing ungenerously had shifted outwards and carried RIKIBOBBY outwards at that stage of the race, the inconvenience to it was not at a level where the Stewards could be satisfied that it would have finished ahead of MIROKU having regard to the half-neck margin, where the interference occurred and the finishing manner of both horses.

THE CAPTAIN (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that the gelding had lunged forward in the gates prior to the start and subsequently commenced awkwardly.
