CRASH CRANACH (T Townsend) – Slow into stride. Lay inwards initially and raced ungenerously in running, placing its rider at a disadvantage and as a consequence took no competitive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer P Cole was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

Race 2: BM76 1300m
As jockey A Nicholl could not make the allotted weight on SPIELBERG he was replaced by J Philpot.
SMUGGLING (T Townsend) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that her mount had travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages but failed to respond to her riding on straightening and did not finish the race off as anticipated. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding had an elevated heart and was coughing post race. Trainer P Cole advised the gelding would now have a let up.
EMBLEY (C Hunter) – Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer K Petrick was advised that the gelding will be required to gallop satisfactorily in the presence of the Stewards prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

At the request of SKY the start time of this race was amended to 4.08pm.
ELLE A WALKING (C Hunter) – Commended awkwardly.
ANOTHER BIT (K Gladwin) – Raced wide throughout.
LOOKING FOR YOU (W Davis) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was under pressure at the 600m yielding ground from thereon and in his opinion raced in a flat manner. A post race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate and trainer P Cole advised that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.
EXTOLMENT (A Nicholls) - Bumped at the start.
WITH PLEASURE (T Townsend) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

INTIMIDATING (T Townsend) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Trainer L Wanless was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.

LIGHT AND DARK (V Arnott) – Commenced to raced keenly from the 900m after being crossed by another runner.

FRILLY DESIGN (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that despite being ridden along in the early stages his mount had had been unable to lead and after being crossed by other runners leaving the 900m the mare resented the kickback and lost ground through the middle stages. The mare has raced in this manner previously when unable to lead. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off fore. Trainer G Clarke will be required to present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.
