When interviewed jockey K Gladwin could offer no explanation for these occurrences and advised that the gelding did not feel amiss in its action afterwards on pulling up or returning to the saddling enclosure. He explained that the gelding had mistrode once during track work in the lead up to race day but at the time he was of the opinion that it may have resented the addition of a tongue tie. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke reported that the gelding underwent a further vet check at the stables that included the review of x rays. This examination revealed no significant abnormalities. He advised the gelding would be sent for a spell. Mr Clarke was informed that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to racing again
