General – Stewards today inquired into the conduct of trainer D Leech during an inquiry at the Alice Springs Turf Club on Sunday 22 November, 2020. After reviewing the audio record of the proceedings and considering evidence from witnesses, trainer D Leech pleaded guilty to two charges under AR228(b).
The specifics of the first charge were that he did behave in an unseemly manner in the presence of, and when addressing the Stewards panel during the inquiry. He was fined $500 for this breach.
The specifics of the second charge were that when leaving the inquiry his conduct of swearing in the presence of multiple Turf Club employees was improper. He was fined $1500 for this breach. Stewards ordered that $1000 of this fine to be suspended for a period of (2) years on the condition that Mr Leech is not found guilty of any conduct related breaches of this rule.
Mr Leech was advised of his rights of appeal.

ALVIN PURPLE (W Kerford) – Raced wide throughout and bumped with another runner at the 300m.
JONNY AKHATON (L Crow) – Dipped on jumping bumping with another runner.
TOFFIATO (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout. Commenced to shift inwards under pressure over the final 100m. Rider reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mounts when they are shifting ground.
NORIAYGA (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.
FEED THE MONSTER (T Treichel) – Bumped with another runner at the 300m when impeded for room.

EXACTING (W Kerford) – Raced wide throughout.
COLDROCK (R Vigar) - . After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
NORDIC ECLIPSE (D Morgan) – Lay outwards under pressure over the last 200m.Trainer advised that the gelding will now be spelled.
OUR WITNESS (S Tsaikos) – Slow into stride.
BRONCKS (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout and cast off hind plate during running.
DIVISIONAL (B Huppatz) – Fractious in barriers.

ME CABO (R Vigar) – Knuckled slightly on jumping and raced wide throughout.
SAMIYOMAR (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Rider reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the line.
SURFLINER (L Crow) – Slow into stride.
SPEEDYCOM (A Lindsay) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
MANHATTAN SPIRIT (T Treichel) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
ROAD STORM (W Davis) – Crowded for room on jumping bumping with another runner.

Race 4: Mad Harrys Maiden 1100m
NOAHS HEART (A Lindsay) – Crowded for room at the 1000m.
STILL JUSTIFIED (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping and ridden hard early to secure a forward position.
ZELRING (P Denton) – Carried inwards by another runner shortly after jumping and inclined to race greenly in the early stages.
ALICE BAND (D Morgan) – Fractious in the barriers. Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping. Commenced to lay outwards from the 400m and down the straight the rider had difficulties in keeping the mare straight. A post-race examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Whilst trainer Mr G Connor advised that the mare would now be spelled, he was advised that it would need to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to again racing with the emphasis being on running in a more tractable manner.

TIME FLIES BY (S Tsaikos) – Slow into stride.
WIN GOLD (T Treichel) – Underwent a veterinary examination on arriving at the barriers after taking charge of its rider for a short distance on route to the barriers and subsequently cleared to start.

Race 5: Centreline Saddlery 1400m
ASH GREY (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
WAYANKA (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping.

Race 6: Ladbrokes Same Race Multi 1400m
DIFINE TYRANNY declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5:18pm after sustaining superficial wounds to its head after a mishap whilst in the barriers.
As there was no book-maker on-course, no deductions were applicable.
Trainer G Connor was advised that prior to that gelding again starting in a race, it must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards with the emphasis on its behaviour in the barriers.
SOUTHERN BOLD (R Vigar) – Slow into stride.
CELTIC BELLE (P Denton) – Fractious in the barriers and commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
LADY SATAB (T Treichel) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
TRUCKLOAD OF HOFFA (W kerford) – Raced wide into the first turn.
SENSATIONAL EFFORT (L Crow) – Commenced with its head in the air striking its rider in the head several times and as a consequence lost momentum. Raced wide throughout. Rider was subsequently examined by ambulance officers and was cleared of any injuries.
QUE PASA (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
