Stewards permitted jockey W Davis to replace jockey R Williams as the rider of WINDFOLA as she could not make the allotted weight. As this change was effected on 5 November, 2018 no further action was taken.
MURPHY (V Arnott) – Eased at the start. Raced wide from the 1000m.
LARRICONI (R Vigar) - Raced wide from the 1000m.
WINDFOLA (W Davis) – Raced wide from the 1000m. Crowded and then blundered from heels at the 250m.
General – Stewards inquired into the reasons for WINDFOLA (W Davis) blundering from heels near the 250m. It was established that rounding the home turn OMINOUS WARNING (K Gladwin) had secured a run to the outside of the heels on STRATEGIC JEUNY (J Todd). When that gelding rolled out marginally under pressure OMINOUS WARNING in turn was obliged to shift ground and in doing so made contact with WINDFOLA which was forced across the heels of LOOKATIM GO (P Crich). As a result, WINDFOLA blundered from the heels of LOOKATIM GO. Stewards were satisfied that no rider had ridden in a careless manner in this incident and therefore no further action was taken.
