PATRIA (K Gladwin) – Steadied passing the 500m.
WITH PLEASURE (A Lindsay) – Under pressure from the 600m and finished unplaced. When questioned rider advised that her mount was showing signs of being in season in the preliminary and prior to the start and in her opinion this may have had contributed to the unplaced performance.

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.

Race 3: Maiden 1100m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.
BELLA RUBINO (W Davis) – Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground and subsequently took no competitive part in the race. Trainer P Cole was advised that the mare must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
LEGS ELEVEN (B Huppatz) – Fractious prior to the start.
NEWMATIC SANDS (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: 0-70 1000m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.
ANOTHER BIT (K Galdwin) – Trainer G Clarke expressed disappointment in the performance and undertook to monitor the gelding over the ensuing days and report to the Stewards accordingly.
1ST VUNIVALU 2ND PATRIOT DAY 3RD TORCHBEARER
Race 5: 0-58 1000m
TOTAL FAITH (V Arnott) – Lunged forward prior to the start and forced the front gates in its barrier stall to open. After being restrained by the rider the mare returned to the mounting enclosure and the rider reported that her mount’s head had made forceful contact with the barrier gate in this incident. The mare was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 5.32pm. The following deductions were applicable to all successful bets placed prior to 5.32pm.

DANCER’S KIN 9c place
During this delay all runners were removed from the barriers. As the gates on barrier 3 were damaged, the field was reloaded from barrier 4 outwards. The start time of this race delayed approximately 7 minutes. The veterinarian subsequently reported that TOTAL FAITH had a laceration inside a nostril.
MANLY COVE (J Todd) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Returned from the event with blood in its mouth.
DEFENCE ATTORNEY (S Tsaikos) – Got its head up at the start.
SHUDAPUTARINGONIT (K Gladwin) – Raced wide throughout.
