TWILIGHT MANEUVER (B Huppatz) – Scrambled at the start and rider reported his saddle shifted slightly in this incident. Raced wide throughout.
CULZEAN (P Shiers) – Rider was reprimanded for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In issuing this penalty Stewards were satisfied his actions had not affected his mount finishing in third place.
TAIPEI DANCER (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly.
PRINCESS LEAH (B Davis) – Bounded at the start.
ELYSIA (J Todd) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer K Hickmott will be required to present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.

PATRIA (J Todd) – Slow into stride.

SHANGHAI SHAKER (P Shiers) – Fractious prior to the start.

At the request of SKY channel the start time of this event was amended to 5.04pm.
PINZU (B Huppatz) – Raced wide from the 700m.
MAKIN’ THE GRADE (K Gladwin) – Fractious prior to the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount had a tendency to lay out in running and was off the bit mid race and under pressure prior to straightening. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 5: BM54 1600m
At the request of SKY channel the start time of this event was amended to 5.34pm.
ARDIZZONE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
VISAO (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly.
THE AUDITOR (K Gladwin) – Bumped at the start. Carried inwards and restrained near the 1500m.
COUNTRY COP (B Davis) – Scrambled at the start and bumped.
DUBAI’S GOT TALENT (V Arnott) – Bumped and unbalanced at the 1500m. Returned having bled from the off side nostril. Trainer J Manning was advised that the gelding must gallop satisfactorily in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.
COUNT OF ESSEX (P Shiers) – Tightened for room and restrained near the 1500m. Raced in restricted room passing the 600m and then held up for clear running until leaving the 250m.
General – On inquiry jockey B Davis (COUNTRY COP) was found guilty of a charge of engaging in careless riding. The specifics were that approaching the 1500m he did fail to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in THE AUDITOR (K Gladwin) being carried inwards and restrained and COUNT OF ESSEX (P Shiers) being tightened for room and restrained. B Davis had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT race meeting to expire after 4 April, 2020.
