Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in this event.
NO ALIBI (J Todd) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly.
CINOMENM (V Arnott) – When questioned rider advised that the mare had its head down in the barriers prior to the start and consequently commenced awkwardly. Rider struck her right ankle on the barrier gate and became unbalanced in this incident. Steadied outwards across heels leaving the 50m.
1ST TREGORIK 2ND NO ALIBI 3RD WICKED AFFAIR
Race 2: BMNT 1200m
MOOT (P Shiers) – Bounded at the start. Lay outwards rounding the first turn and as a result was steadied passing the 650m.
EL TORANADO (C Spry) – Crowded at the start.
1ST SMUGGLING 2ND EL TORANADO 3RD MEAZZA
Race 3: 0-58 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in this event.
MOLICIOUS (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount raced on the bit in the early stages but was under pressure at the 600m and yielded ground from thereon. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore. Trainer P Cole was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
MY TRADITION ( B Huppatz) – Raced wide throughout.
IRON CURTAIN (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.
FIRE ‘N’ VICE (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.
1ST PRINCESS LEAH 2ND REAL ROYAL 3RD MY TRADITION
Race 4: Maiden 1200m
DEADIDIC (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
PIQABOO (F Bergstrand) – Slow into stride and steadied inwards across heels shortly after the start. Steadied near the 1100m and again inside the 1000m when improving into tight running inside another runner. Taken outwards to improve leaving the 900 and race wide rounding the home turn. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight and impeded near the 200m and again at the 150. The veterinarian reported the gelding returned with lacerations to the off hind leg.
TELLING STORIES (C Spry) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide from the 500m.
TACITUS (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Held tight passing the 200m.
TOTAL FAITH (V Arnott) – Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
