General: As jockey J Robertson was overweight, Stewards approved the following rider changes:-
Race 1 EQUIAMICO C Hunter.
Race 3 PAUSINI C Hunter.
Race 4 OLIVARES late scratching.
J Robertson was reprimanded for accepting these riding engagements and then being unable to ride at the allotted weight. In arriving at this decision, Stewards also took into account that he had agreed late in the week to ride at the meeting and had travelled from interstate.
Race 1 Indervon Petroleum Handicap 1200 metres
RAWTEKK (W Kerford) – Lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight.
THE STAR LEGAND (D Tootell) – Slow into stride.
EQUIAMICO (C Hunter) – Mistrode and bumped with another runner at the 1000m. Raced wide throughout. After a disappointing performance, trainer S Westover was advised that the gelding would now be retired from racing.
THE MAILMAN (W Peel) – Inconvenienced for clear running close to the finish.
PREEMTIVE (M Henderson) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner at the 1000m.

Race 2: Sky Racing Handicap 1200 metres
HEART OF RED (W Peel) – Inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn.
COLDROCK (S Tsaikos) – Slow into stride.
EXACTING (D Tootell) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout.
GOLDEN DICE (C Eaton) – Dipped on jumping.
KING KAZOU (L Crow) – Slow into stride.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Multimaker Handicap 1100 metres
Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.
NIC NAC (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight.
JAILHOUSE ROCK (C Eaton) – Bumped and tightened for room between runners on jumping having to steady off heels.
DENATIN (M Henderson) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.
WINGARD (D Tootell) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
BETH ROSE (S Tsaikos) – Commenced a little awkwardly.
SAMIYOMAR (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
PAUSINI (C Hunter) – On returning to scale, was found to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer S Robbins was advised that as this was the mares second episode of bleeding, it was now ineligible to start in any race under AR79(5)(6).

Race 4: The Rock Bar Handicap 1600 metres
BLUE BALLOONS declared a late scratching at 3:55pm by order of the Stewards after the mare took charge of its rider en route to the barriers and galloped for a considerable distance before being restrained back under control.
OLIVARES declared a late scratching at 2:30pm after its rider J Robertson stood himself down after he was found to be overweight and suffering from the effects of dehydration and no other rider was available to replace him.
As there was no book-maker on course, no deductions were applicable.
TIGER TRAP (C Eaton) – Slow into stride.
WOOGIE (L Crow) – Began to yield ground from the 600m.
HEART OF EDEN (D Morgan) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout. After a disappointing performance, a subsequent veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer C Cook was advised that a veterinary certificate of soundness satisfactory to the Stewards, must be produced prior to again starting in a race.
REDWOOD GARDENS (M Henderson) – Steadied off heels into the first turn when racing forward.

Race 5: Mad Harry’s Christmas Race Day Handicap 1400 metres
LE COMMANDANT (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
THAT’S JUSTIFIED (W Peel) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
MCKENNA (C Eaton) – Tightened for room between runners on jumping. After a disappointing performance, trainer D Leech advised that the gelding will now be retired from racing.
HALOGEM (W Kerford) – Slow into stride. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure from the 150m.
TOMAHAWK LAD (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
