TWILIGHT MANEUVER (B Huppatz) – Under pressure prior to straightening and yielded ground from the 300m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C Pollard reported that the gelding had worked its tongue tie loose in the preliminary or during the event as it returned without this piece of gear and in his opinion as a consequence may have therefore choked down in running.

OMINOUS WARNING (W Davis) – Delayed the start after proving difficult to load. Became fractious in the barriers and reared lunging forward prior to the start. As this was the gelding’s first start after being required to barrier trial as a result of its barrier manners, trainer P Stennett was informed that the gelding must now pass in two consecutive barrier trials prior being permitted to race again.

General – Jockey W Davis (OMINOUS WARNING) was examined by the Paramedics following the race after reporting that he had injured his neck in the barriers. He was cleared to fulfil his remaining riding engagement in the final event.
