BAGGINS 8c win 9c place
RUTH’S BOY 7c place
PUZZLED PRINCESS 9c place
BAGGINS (P Denton) – When questioned regarding his riding of the winner over the concluding stages rider advised that his mount responded well when not tested with the whip in the home straight but he felt the gelding was laying inwards in the run to the finish and he had therefore reduced his level of vigour prior to the winning post. After viewing the patrol films there was no evidence to support that the gelding was laying inwards to any major extent and the rider acknowledged that he had erred in not riding his mount out fully to the end of the race. Stewards therefore strongly reminded him of his obligations in this regard.
