ALSOADAMAS (C Spry) – Bounded at the start and raced wide throughout. Race 2: Maiden & 3YO 1200m

General - As jockey C Spry was to be overweight, Stewards permitted apprentice D Morgan to replace him as the rider of AWESOME MO as there was no other jockey available. C Spry was fined the sum of $100.
PAGHMAN (K Gladwin) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that due to his mount not commencing well he was obliged to race further back than anticipated and with the wet conditions this had been detrimental in that he had difficulty making ground in the middle stages but the gelding did finish the race off strongly in the straight.
LIBERTYS TORCH (P Denton) – Commenced to lay out approaching the 700m turn and continued to hang outwards from thereon and consequently took no further competitive part in the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Petrick was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
AWESOME MO (D Morgan) – Raced wide throughout. Carried outwards by another runner leaving the 600m and consequently steadied inwards across heels near the 500m. Shifted inwards under pressure leaving the 200m and bumped another runner at the 150m.

HARRY HELLRAISER (R Vigar) – Following a mishap in the race day stalls the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to compete.
CAITLINS ANGEL (S Wiseman) – Threw its head at the start. Impeded for clear running in the early stages of the straight. Carried inwards leaving the 200m and checked from heels at the 150m.
CINOMENM (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. Steadied outwards when racing keenly leaving the 800m and yielded ground in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer P Cole was advised that he must present a veterinary certificate of soundness for the filly prior to it racing again.
FRANULA (M Hagley) – Fractious prior to the start.
General – Stewards inquired into the reasons for CAITLINS ANGEL (S Wiseman) receiving interference at the 150m. It was established that after being impeded for clear running in the early stages of the straight CATLINS ANGEL had improved between runners and leaving the 200m was carried inwards by AWESOME MO (D Morgan) and subsequently checked from the heels of BLACK HAZE (M Hart) which shifted outwards slightly. Apprentice D Morgan was cautioned for allowing his mount to shift inwards uncorrected which was the major contributing in this incident. He was advised to make a greater effort to stop riding and straighten his mount in a similar circumstance. In arriving at this decision Stewards considered his level of experience and the prevailing track conditions.
Race 3: 0-64 1100m
LOOKATIM GO (P Crich) – Bumped at the start.
HOOK ME UP (M Hagley) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Trainer C Pollard subsequently reported that the gelding had returned lame in both front legs and will now be retired.
