Race 1 Mad Harry’s Handicap 1200 metres
NORDIC ECLIPSE (D Morgan) – Fractious in the barriers.
DUVET (W Kerford) – Slow into stride and then inclined to race keen in the early stages having to be restrained off heels on several occasions.
GRAB FOR POWER (B Huppatz) – Slow into stride.
BIT OF A FLIRT (J Stanley) – Raced wide throughout.
KENTUCKY FIREBALL (J Todd) – Slow into stride.
Race 2: Red Centre Technology Partners 1200 metres
MAUDY (C Johnson) – Commenced a little awkwardly.
MANDATER (V Arnott) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 650m to obtain clear running.
CORNERS CAN BE CUT (T Gillett) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
KUMMERLINGS (L Crow) – Commenced awkwardly.
TOM THUMB (R Vigar) – Taken outwards by another runner at the 650m.
Race 3: Holdfast Insurance Handicap 1100 metres
Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners.
SHAMPERS (L Crow) – Knuckled slightly on jumping.
KING KAZOU (B Huppatz) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Hung outwards getting its head up at the 300m bumping with another runner.
MAIDEN GRACE (J Todd) – Slow into stride. Bumped by another runner at the 300m and momentarily unbalanced.
HAWACAIN (D Morgan) – Slow into stride bumping with another runner.
VIOTTI (J Stanley) – Raced wide throughout.
CLASSROOM DESTINY (K Gladwin) – Raced wide throughout.
DELIGHTFUL SPIRIT (S Wiseman) – Steadied off heels at the 300m.
General: Correct weight for this event was delayed after the rider of the third placegetter B Huppatz (KING KAZOU) requested to see the patrol footage of the final 300m. After viewing the footage, correct weight was declared.
Race 4: Ladbrokes Handicap 1600 metres
CELEBRAKTI (D Morgan) – Raced wide into the first turn.
CERUTTY(C Johnson) – Raced wide throughout.
SEEK TO DESTROY (S Wiseman) – Inconvenienced for clear running from about the 250m having to shift outwards off heels to obtain clear running at the 200m.
HEARTS HONOUR (J Stanley) – Commenced a little awkward.
OUR TICKETS (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
LILY’S LITTLE GIRL (K Gladwin) – Fractious in the barriers.
OPPERMAN (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Under pressure from the 500m and steadied off heels at the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer subsequently reported that the gelding had returned to his stables with an injury to the near fore tendon. He was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding and it must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again. Trainer advised that the gelding will now be retired.
TAN TAT BLAZE (T Gillett) – Slow into stride.
Race 5: Merry Christmas Handicap 1400 metres
The start of this race was delayed due to BEL’S LAD being resaddled behind the barriers.
LE COMMANDANT (S Wiseman) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
BEL’S LAD (L Crow) – Resaddled on arriving at the barriers. Crowded for room in between runners shortly after jumping bumping with another runner on several occasions.
QUANTUM DOT (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide throughout.
THAT’S JUSTIFIED (W Kerford) – Fractious in the barriers.
DOON BUGGY (C Johnson) – Fractious in the barriers. Raced wide into the straight and continued to shift outwards under pressure in the run to the finish.
Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
