TROBIS payments to increase from 1 April 2024

Date posted:
FROM 1 April 2024, the TROBIS bonus payments to owners will undergo a 25% increase across the board.
The Board of Thoroughbred Racing NT (TRNT), at its meeting held on 1 March 2024, approved the increase, the first one for well over 15 years.
This will mean that if a horse wins a TROBIS race and is TROBIS qualified, owners will take home $5,000, an increase of $1,000 on the long-standing TROBIS first prize. The amended TROBIS payments are as follows:
Bonus 1: $5,000 to be paid to the winner if TROBIS qualified, or 50% ($2,500 – an increase of $500) to the first TROBIS horse past the post in second to fifth place.
Bonus 2: $1,250 to be paid to the second TROBIS qualified horse past the post in second to fifth place.
There has been no change to the cost to TROBIS an eligible horse, i.e. $1,200 etc, and all other TROBIS protocols remain the same.
