Race 1:0 - 62 Handicap 1200m

WINGARD'S MARK (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that his mount had travelled comfortably outside the leader in running but was under immediate pressure on straightening and failed to finish the race as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Trainer G Connor was advised he must present a veterinary certificate of soundness for the gelding prior to racing again.

ZOCALOS (C Spry)Slow into stride. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure  rounding the home turn.

GROOTE EYLANDT (P Shiers) – Momentarily steadied off heels near  the 400m. Returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer C Cook was advised of the provisions of AR53.

Race 2: 0 - 58 Handicap 1000m

THE DARK PASSENGER (K Cross) – Tightened for room, bumped and unbalanced near the 550m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.

CHOICE APPROACH (R Oakford) – Tightened for room, bumped with another runner and became unbalanced near the 550m.

RIGHT HERE (F Bergstrand) – Bounded at the start and lost ground.

General : On inquiry  jockey B Davis (MARBEL DUKE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) with the specifics being that approaching the 550m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when not clear, placing pressure on CHOICE APPROACH (R Oakford) which then bumped with THE DARK PASSENGER (K Cross) and as a result both these runners suffered interference.

Jockey B Davis had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to commence after 5th August 2017. In addition he was also fined the sum of $500.

Race 3: 0 - 62 Handicap 1600m

CULLINAN (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout and eased down in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both front legs. Trainer D Leech was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to trialling or racing.

LOCAL AFFAIR (C Spry) – Raced wide throughout.

OUR SWAGMAN (V Arnott) – Lay outwards  under pressure rounding the home turn.

NAMING RIGHT'S (J Todd) – Slow to begin.

Race 4: Maiden Plate 1300m

The correct weight was delayed to allow the rider of the fourth placed ‘Precursor’ to view the patrol film in the straight, and after doing so did not proceed with any further action.

FIVE FORCES (F Bergstrand) – Fractious in the barriers and was slow into stride. Shifted out and bumped with another runner at the 550m.

FRANK'S REWARD (C Spry) – Bumped at the start. Bumped with another runner and became momentarily unbalanced at the 550m.

MICKY  (J Lyon) – Crowded and bumped between runners at the start. 

PRECURSOR (K Cross) – Bumped at the start. Steadied outwards  from heels to secure a clear run at the150m and was impeded when racing between runners over the concluding stages.

TSAVORITE (P Shiers) – Rolled inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

RED VALAZEEL (P Denton) – Resaddled at the barriers.

TOUCH OF FLO (W Davis) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a corneal abrasion to the left eye.

Race 5: 0 - 66 Handicap 1300m

TIPSY ON RED (W Davis) – Race wide from the 700m.

BON JET (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start.

PENDLES (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

IDALIA'S DREAM (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout.

MCKENNA (S Ridler) - Bumped at the start.

Race 6: 0 - 76 Handicap 1300m

GALLANT EXPRESS (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start.

BREWERY (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout. Rider reported his mount short in its action in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer K Petrick subsequently reported that the gelding recovered with mild lameness in both front feet.

ONE FASTER (B Davis) – Raced wide throughout and was under pressure on straightening and inclined to lay inwards under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind. Trainer G Clarke was advised that he must present  a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

RAKITIKI (J Lyon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide throughout. 

AUSSIE JACK (R Vigar) – At the request of its rider, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival at the barriers and was cleared to compete.

ICEFLOW (S Ridler) – Inclined to lay outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

POT BLACK (J Todd) – Slow into stride.
