Race 1: 0 - 66 Handicap 1200m

PENDLES (V Arnott) – Bumped and crowded at the start.

THE HUMMEL (R Vigar) – Veered outwards at the start and contacted another runner.

NICCOCO (P Shiers) – Crowded at the start. Had a tendency to lay outwards through the middle stages.

POTBLACK (J Lyon) – Knuckled at the start.

WORTHINGTON (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

EVIL MISS (K Cross) – Crowded and tightened for room at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that whilst her mount did not appreciate being tightened for room at the start, the mare had nonetheless travelled comfortably in running but in her opinion did not handle the step up in the distance of today’s event. Trainer D Bates agreed to monitor the mare’s recovery in the ensuing days and advise Stewards accordingly. 

Race 2: Average Benchmark Handicap 1100m

BOOMWAA (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly.

KISS THE CONDOR (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout.

LADY PHROMILY (J Todd) –Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

KILIM (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an ulcerated cornea (right eye).

Race 3: 0 - 62 Handicap 1300m

GRANDE CASTAGNO (S Ridler) – Bumped at the start.

GROOTE EYLANDT (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that the gelding had travelled comfortably in running but when tested in the straight did not finish the race off as anticipated. A post race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.

TREGORIK (F Bergstrand) – Race wide throughout.

ANOTHER MAN'S GAIN (P Shiers) – Crowded shortly after the start.

SENOR JUEZ (J Lyon) – Raced keenly in the early stages until obtaining cover leaving the 900m.

BROOKTON ICE (B Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

PUZZLED PRINCESS (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

SALAMAAT (B Huppatz) – Raced wide on straightening. 

Race 4: TROBIS Fillies and Mares 0 - 70 Handicap 1300m

General - Prior to declaring correct weight, Stewards reviewed the footage of the start as jockey Paul Shiers was of the opinion that his mount LAGO GIRL had been denied a fair start. After the reviewing the film, Stewards declared the mare a runner.

DANCING POETESS (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

LAGO GIRL (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

EJAYTEE (F Bergstrand) – Steadied when racing keenly past the 1000m.

OAKFIELD SUNRISE (C Spry) - Raced wide throughout.

BELLA GIULIETTA (B Huppatz) – Slow into stride. 

Race 5: 0 - 58 Handicap 1600m

GOD FORBID (F Bergstrand) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that her mount travelled comfortably in running, but on straightening commenced to lay inwards and as a result she was unable to fully test the gelding in the run to the finish. Post race veterinarian examination revealed no abnormalities.

TATAMAGOUCHE (V Arnott) – Bounded at the start.

CULLINAN (J Lyon) – At the request of its rider, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to compete. Raced wide throughout.

SURROUNDED (R Vigar) – Bounded at the start.

OLIVARES (S Ridler) – Commenced awkwardly.

IWAUNA (B Huppatz) – Impeded when improving approaching the 200m and steadied across heels to secure a clear run.

ALPHA MATE (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m.

Race 6: Bridge Toyota Cup 1600m

OVERDANE (J Stanley) – Crowded shortly after the start.

HILLBILLY RICH (F Bergstrand) – Raced wide on straightening and shifted ground outwards under pressure in the straight.

HAMMERED ART (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly. Carried outwards near the 250m. Raced tightly with another runner and bumped over the final 100m.

SPARTAN EAGLE (K Cross) – Raced tightly and bumped with another runner over the final 100m.

SUPERCOACH (R Oakford) – Commenced awkwardly.


Swab samples were taken from all winners and ONE FASTER. Pre race samples were taken from NICCOCO, WORTHINGTON, GRANDE CASTAGNO, GROOTE EYLANDT, LAGO GIRL, HEARTZ ABLAZE, TOMMY GUN, OLIVARES and all runner engaged in race 6.

All riders provided urine specimens for the purpose of drug analysis and were also were subjected to breath analysis testing for the detection of alcohol.
