Race 1 Transport Maintenance and Engineering (TME) Handicap 1200 metres

The start of this race was delayed due to AMERICAN ICON having to be resaddled behind the barriers.

HOLY FIRE (P Denton) – Impeded for clear running from the 800m until entering the straight.

RIBERA DEL DUERO (T Gillett) – Impeded for a clear run near the 250m.

AMERICAN ICON (L Miller) – Steadied passing the 800m after improving close to heels.

FULL MARKS (F Bergstrand) – Knuckled at the start.

REMEMBER RAZOR (W Kerford) – Slow into stride.

Race 2: Ladbrokes Handicap 1200 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in regards to the riding instructions she intended to issue bearing in mind her stable had 3 runners in this event.

MOSS’N TIME (Z Gibbs) – Slow into stride. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have respiratory distress. Trainer L Whittle advised that the gelding will undergo an endoscopic examination and she will advise the Stewards accordingly of the results.

REMBRANDT (L Crow) – Shifted ground outwards under pressure over the final 100m.

BEDISGUISED (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

ENGINE FIFTY FIVE (J Lyon) – Raced wide on straightening.

HOT DEMAND (P Denton) – Bumped at the start.

Race 3: Harvey Norman Young Gun II 14TH October 2017 Handicap 1100 metres

KENTUCKY FIREBALL (R Vigar) – Slow into stride.

I WROTE THE BOOK (L Miller) – Slow into stride.

GRANDE CASTAGNO (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly.

BONSAI BOY (F Bergstrand) – Lay outwards through the middle stages.

Race 4: Gem Cave Melbourne Cup Luncheon 7th November Maiden Plate 1000 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in regards to the riding instructions she intended to issue bearing in mind her stable had 3 runners in this event.

RHYTHMICAL was declared a late scratching at 4.29pm after the gelding became cantankerous when leaving the enclosure and took charge of its rider in the preliminary and jockey F Bergstrand was subsequently dislodged. Trainer K Lamprecht was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

As a second Ambulance was required onsite to transport jockey F Bergstrand to Alice Springs Hospital for observation the start time of this event was put back to 5.00pm. Jockey F Bergstrand will require a medical clearance prior to riding again.

As there was no book maker on course, no deductions were applicable.

CAPTAIN OASIS (R Vigar) – Raced wide in the middle stages.

OUTSTANDING BILL (Z Gibbs) – Raced wide on straightening.

SHANARICH (L Miller) – Commenced awkwardly getting its head in the air.

RAZOR CUT (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 5: Wally Huntly Memorial Handicap 1600 metres

The start time of this race was put back to 5.30pm.

URBAN BOURBON (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

SWIVET (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and ridden vigorously in the early stages to obtain a forward position.

RAZOR RACING (L Miller) – Slow into stride.

CATCHTHERAINBOW (L Crow) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

TACTICAL LASS (J Lyon) – Got its head in the air shortly after the start when being restrained.

General – As jockey T Gillett was to be overweight he was replaced as the rider of RAZOR RACING by jockey L Miller. Due to a misunderstanding L Miller was unable to make the allotted weight and he was therefore replaced by jockey F Bergstrand. As F Bergstrand became indisposed through injury Stewards permitted L Miller to take the ride on RAZOR RACING and granted him permission to ride 1.5kg overweight as no other jockey could ride at the allotted weight.

All riders breath tested for alcohol.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
