Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue bearing in mind his stable had three runners in the event.

CHERABIN (P Shiers) – Mistrode near the 700m and lost momentum. 

KIFAAH (B Davis) – Returned having sustained a self inflicted laceration to the near hind.

BEL SIR (J Lyon) – Slow into stride.

BRIDGEY FLYER (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: 0 - 64 Handicap 1200m

VAL TORIO (K Cross) - Raced wide throughout.

PERPETUAL BLISS (F Bergstrand) – Bounded at the start.

Race 3: 0 - 58 Handicap 1200m

HARLEQUIN BELLS (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly. Lay outwards under pressure over the final 100m.

MULTIZONE (W Davis) – Bumped heavily at the start. When questioned rider advised that his mount was reluctant to hold a position in the early and middle stages due to the kickback. He added that after shifting the gelding to the outside of the field his mount responded to his urgings and made ground in the straight.

TATAMAGOUCHE (C Spry) – Crowded at the start.  

OUR BAY ROE (M Hagley) - Raced wide throughout.

CHOICE APPROACH (F Bergstrand) – Knuckled at the start.

PUZZLED PRINCESS (K Cross) – Bumped at the start.

SECOND BASE (P Crich) – Slow into stride.

Race 4: TROBIS Maiden Plate 1100m

BAGGINS (W Davis) – Raced wide from the 600m.

WREAKED (P Crich) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: BM54 Handicap 1600m

HEY CHARLIE (R Oakford) – Steadied near the 1200m. Raced wide from the 1000m.

TOMMY GUN (M Hagley) - ($7) - was declared a late withdrawal at 5.10pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Stewards ruled that all bets placed on TOMMY GUN were to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 5.10pm.

PINCENTIA (J Lyon) – Compounded mid race. Trainer Mr D Waters advised that the mare will now be retired.


Post race samples were taken from all winners and pre race samples were taken from KIFAAH, REDWOOD GARDENS, SHOGUN’S REIGN, ROSENBAUER.
