Race 1  Ladbrokes  2YO Sprint 1100m

CINOMENM (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

LEDAYL KISS (W Kerford) – Bounded at the start becoming unbalanced and then veered inwards abruptly making contact with the running rail and as a result lost ground. 

Race 2: 8HA/SUN969 Handicap  1100m

ELLIE MOSH (K Gladwin) – Refused to load into the barriers and was subsequently declared a late withdrawal at 1.13pm. Trainer K Rogerson was advised that the filly must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again. No deductions were applicable as there was no on course bookmaker.

MEGA FAITH (K Cross) – Tightened for room and restrained near the 800m.

ALKIRION (C Johnson) – Bounded at the start. Lay outwards in running.

DESERT SPIRIT (L Crow) – Raced wide throughout.

DAYAN (J Todd) – Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.

TOORAK ROAD (R Vigar) – Shifted inwards about the 800m. Contacted the running rail near the 400m when being hard ridden to maintain a position on the rail.

General – On inquiry jockey R Vigar (TOORAK ROAD) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) with the specifics being that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clearing resulting in MEGA FAITH (K Cross) being tightened for room and restrained. Jockey R Vigar had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting which expires after 25 April, 2018 and in addition was fined the sum of $500.

Race 3: Royal Flying Doctor Sprint  1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in relation to her riding instructions as her stable had multiple runners in the event.

MITOCHONDRIA (B Huppatz) – Reared in the barriers and struck its head and off hip and after undergoing a veterinary examination was declared a late withdrawal at 1.48pm. Trainer L Whittle was advised that she must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again. No deductions were applicable as there was no on course bookmaker.

JAILHOUSE ROCK (J Lyon) – Raced wide from the 600m.

LUCK’S A CHANCE (C Spry) – Shifted away from another runner and as a result crowded for room and steadied leaving the 100m.

CELEBRATE (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide throughout.

Race 4:  Darwin Horse Floats Maiden Plate 1400m

FIVE FORCES (F Bergstrand) – Steadied off heels racing into the first turn. Lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

TATLER (L Crow) – Bumped at the start.

VARDY (W Kerford) – Bumped at the start.

OPPERMAN (J Lyon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

OLIVA JADE (P Denton) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout

Race 5: Centralian Advocate Handicap  1400m

QUANTUM DOT (P Denton) – Steadied off heels racing into the first turn.

DOON BUGGY (C Johnson) – Bumped at the start.

GIRL HAPPY (F Bergstrand) – Knuckled at the start.

LOTION (K Cross) – Bumped at the start.

LADWELL (J Lyon) – Slow into stride.

SNOWY BLACK (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly. Trainer G Clarke reported that gelding returning bleeding from the off fore frog.


Race 6: Central Australian Removals Handicap 1900m

ELECTRIC CRIMSON (J Lyon) – Lay outwards under pressure over the final 150m.

PERESSINI (J Todd) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

CATCHTHERAINBOW (W Kerford) – Over raced through the early stages getting its head in the air passing the 1400m.

NEW EMPIRE (K Cross) – Slow into stride.

HUSSOR (P Denton) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

WINDFOLA (L Crow)- Lay outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

PRIMEIRO (B Huppatz) – Compounded prior to straightening. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.


Race 7: MT Franklin WFA Plate 1200m

JACKANORY (J Lyon) – Bounded at the start losing ground.

NICCOCO (P Shiers) – Fractious in the barriers and knuckled at the start.

TICKET TO TOORAK (K Gladwin) – Trainer G Clarke reported that the gelding returned with abrasions to the near hind.


Race 8: First National Framptons Handicap  1200 metres

EINSTEIN MAGIC (LCrow) – Dipped on jumping bumping with another runner.

HOT DEMAND (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

NORDIC ECLIPSE (P Shiers) -  Bumped with another runner on jumping. Following the unplaced performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no apparent abnormalities.

ROUGHLY (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

TICKET TO PARIS (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner

All riders were breath tested for alcohol.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
